Lombard don't deal with private individuals.

Now is a good time to strike a deal on anything on the dealers books as end June beckons there will be some desire to shift stuff.
Not as far as I am aware, I had a couple of quotes from them a few months ago but that's not to say you are wrong merely I was not aware.

They used too....I've had finance with them before, but since the banking crisis as said they pulled out of the market for individuals.

Out of interest, what is the Audi APR rate that is generally offered?

BMW had 0% on M cars, Mercedes is 4.5% APR currently - both very competitive.

I was not aware of that as the quotes I had were on a personal basis. I will ask tomorrow.

As others have said, if you can, take finance to get the dealer contribution. Then you can 'withdraw' within 2 weeks and keep the contribution. If you have an offset mortgage it's a good way to fund it. Why pay 7-9% when you can pay 2.5-4%? Circumstances allowing of course.

I negotiated pretty hard in February with my deal. I got a £4200 contribution from the dealer. I believe the APR i'm paying is around 6.3%, i tried to push lower as Merc and BMW are/were lower but no joy. Also try and push them up on the end residual value as they tend to go on the low side. Your RS4 should be worth more than £20k in 3 years. They try a fob you off that you'll have more equity after paying the ballon payment, all a low residual does is push up the monthly. Oh and don't worry about how many miles you do, it only counts against you if you hand the car back at the end. go for the lowest miles option 5-6k a year, it boosts the residual...

I chucked in £15k which made the payments £650 a month. The best way to negotiate is get them to give you a quote with what deposit you're prepared to pay like i did over 3 years. The came up with £720. I said make it £ 650 and you have a deal, they made the numbers fit ( i got £4200 off).

The dealer has a fair bit to give when you take the finance option
I managed to get my hands on an internal doc that showed they were getting £3900 dealer contribution on a standard A4 valued at approx £30k.
With that up my sleeve, when negotiating with the dealer, I used assumption to gauge that they had significantly more than that in their hand.
Be prepared to look like you're going to walk away and you should be looking at getting around £5k into the deal from them.
An easy way to work this nego is to haggle hard over the value of your PX as this is obviously variable and it doesn't necessarily detract from the salesman's part of the deal, so he'll be more willing to be flexible at this end of the deal than at the top end where his pay structure is defined.
As said on here a few times, if you're a cash buyer, then still take the finance as that's where the large chunk of the contributions lie, and then simply drive out the dealership and phone up and pay off the finance without penalty.

Key to all negotiation in any part of business is understanding your position and, in sales, be prepared to walk away and let them chase you back...

Good luck, you'll love the car :)

I was told 10k was the lowest mileage per year. Are you sure you can go down to 6k?
