If oem RS5 Bolt straight on we have a Loba/AP racing disc solution.

Took a while but I got there in the end. Weights of the OEM brakes that came off my S4;

Caliper and Pads: 8.5kg
343mm Disc: 10.8kg

So that's 19.3kg of unsprung weight for the brakes, plus about 23kg more for the wheel and tyre combo = 42kg per front corner to manage!! No wonder suspension has such a hard time...

From scribbled notes I've found from when I had my old car;

C5 RS6 caliper+pads: 11.5kg
365mm RS6 disc: 12kg
Movit Ceramic 400mm disc: 6.5kg.

So compare the weights of the replacement/upgrade discs with these to see if you'll increase things too much. +10% would probably not be obvious, but more than that might. Less weight through use of lighter calipers and ceramic discs makes a BIG difference though...

And just to wrap up the weight thing, the OEM C5 RS6 5-spoke wheel was 16kg and the very sexy Dymag Carbon wheels I turned down weighed just 7.5kg each. A Continental SportContact3 weighs 10.5kg new.

Agree on weights, I noticed a dramatic change when outing OE rs4 b7 disc for Loba, and OE wheels for BBS

Those dymags are hot it must be said ... 7.5kg ! That's a great saving there.
