Are these available in plain black, or even an ali finish?
Real name: Simon, or Si, don't mind either

Not directly, Si, but they can obviously be painted/dipped/whatever.
They're made from CF due to the physical attributes (weight, strength, rigidity, material thickness) - all of which are particularly relevant for this application - i.e. to overlay/displace a proportion of the bumper, without reducing the size of the exhaust apertures, etc. and making it look like an integral part of the bumper (rather than a lump slapped on top/underneath!).

The finish doesn't look too bad, either, even if I do say so myself!

However, for a more OEM look (especially if you don't have/plan to have any other CF part accents), and if you plan to have a bodyshop fit it for you anyhow, then it would make sense to get them to apply a finish of your choice to it at the same time.

The material thickness is surprisingly thin, yet still rigid. Perhaps 2 to 3mm? I'm guessing plastic would have to be quite a bit thicker.

Incidentally, for anyone that's interested in getting hold of one of these diffusers and plans to attend this weekend's RS246 Boxhill meet, you can potentially save on the P&P costs (and delivery times!) if you let me know ASAP, as I may be able to (stock permitting) deliver it in person to you on the day.

Well that's dangling the proverbial carrot isn't it! haha. I am going saturday and will take a look at Faisal's before I decide, so we can have a chat then. Cheers

I knew you'd have one! lol. Would be interesting to see if it had any effect on the handling, aside from being a cosmetic enhancement.

Would be rude not to ;)
I think at high speeds about 100mph there might be a slight effect from downforce but I am afraid even if there is one, it won't be noticeable..

I can't imagine there would be any noticeable affect on handling... I went for a MCarbon diffuser last night as part of a cheap group buy. They both look very similar but from what I can see from the photos there is more of an angle on the face with theses.

I think soon people will be more impressed seeing our cars without the diffuser.... "Oh mate, where'd you get that diffuser from? It looks better than the OEM carbon"..

I think you'd probably only notice it on a track if at all, and only crazy russians are stupid enough to track it all of the time. Hmmmmmm, if only I knew one of those

It'd be interesting to see the difference between them. When do you get yours back?

Not sure. I might get it sent to Plush so they can throw it on for me which means I'll see it in 4-5 weeks..

Not really a substitute for seeing them in the flesh, but I've attempted to pull together similarly angled shots of the two, for comparison.
Everyone will obviously have different tastes/preferences, but it must be nice to now have the choice available to you! :jump_clap:
