:dung:

All the owners in Asia, Europe, Australia, America, Canada, UK...all the magazines and car shows...of all the testing, guess who set the record? Me. 12.75 @ 108.36.
If I could have been arsed to go to the strip I could have spanked that time easy!!
And that's in my vw T5 van, smoking a spliff while playing the harp, not to mention the didgeridoo :bigblink:
Class 1 guys I ride with let's say employ a more progressive and adapted approach. Average joe like me still needs decent skills to keep up. It is a pleasure ride and not training so a bit more shall we say, relaxed and rapid.
TT - anyone who rides the TT in my books are gods on acid. Drum brakes around that's circuit demands the highest respect...

Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
Yes yes, let's all talk about motorcycle races as relevant.
Neilparf questions my shifting ability in a dragstrip video, and you guys somehow turn it into comparing to professional motorcycle racing?
You guys have shyte where you're supposed to have brains. Keep acting like little girls. It's fun to watch.
Looking forward to seeing you hamfisted clots ript through the gears. Post a video up. I bet it will be a laugh. Slipping clutch, granny shifting. I reckon you couldn't even beat my exhaust only time (12.51@110) at Santa Pod, even with all 5,000 pounds of mods. Good luck. It's easy right?
We know Silas can't drive for shyte...that's why he bought an automatic.

That's actually quite a funny commentWe know Silas can't drive for shyte...that's why he bought an automatic.

But my automatic can change up quicker than you can boy!!!
On a country road blast you would have been spanked in my old b7
Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
One question saki, don't you get bored just doing point to point straight runs???
Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
Highly relevant. Anyone knows 2 wheel skills traverses to 4. Valentino Rossi's successful foray in to WRC.sakimano wrote:Yes yes, let's all talk about motorcycle races as relevant.
Of course I do. You placed your 'trip to the strip' on such a pedestal that we should've all bowed to your superior skills and time. Your driving skills clearly revolve around shifting gears - a rather single faceted approach and you achieve your 'result'. I and Sam used the motorcycle analogy to highlight the fact your 'strip trip' is one dimension and any aspect of awareness on track or road when approaching a stretch of bends as a motorcyclist on 2 wheels or driving his said RS4 takes way more dexterity, skill and judgement...sakimano wrote:Neilparf questions my shifting ability in a dragstrip video, and you guys somehow turn it into comparing to professional motorcycle racing?
I'm not professional you complete muppet. Who said anything about professional? I said, I kept up with 'professionals' in a 'pleasure' riding environment. I'm an amaetuer compared to the guys I ride with. Road craft traversing across 2 or 4 wheels. Again, it takes dexterity, skill and judgement. Non of which is present on a 1/4 mile straight line... Eh? you like to watch girls?sakimano wrote:You guys have shyte where you're supposed to have brains. Keep acting like little girls. It's fun to watch.
Ok - I'll post that and you post 'driving' the A258 Dover to Deal or your Canadian equal. 2 or 4 wheels is fine...sakimano wrote:Looking forward to seeing you hamfisted clots ript through the gears. Saki you really are one dimensional. You said 'drive'. That to me means brakes, steering, position, power delivery, poise it goes on. So, back to your strip races - gears... help me, I'm struggling after that...sakimano wrote:We know Silas can't drive for shyte...that's why he bought an automatic.
Do you take a c**P before launch to give you the edge?

Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
Saki, ur a cock! I've sat here and listened to you for months and some of it has relevance so I've not bitten. Good friends of mine Silas and Neil have told me of your talking crap and then this. Conversations do meander from time to time here and when that happens you often find out interesting facts (even from you). Having said that the only thing I can think of from you is the 2 3/4 inch exhaust diameter being optimum. But the facts are there is not a lot to be had in gains past the cats tbh. I'll concede that every little helps of course.
I really wish I was having this conversation in person where I could express myself fully. Feel free to moan, whine, give it as much as you like as I'll be ignoring you.
Mods: I know I've been rude to a forum member but I'm sick and tired of this imbecile, can something be done to or with him please?

I could ask you a similar question. Don't you get bored watching your car on a treadmill...aka 2 big rollers at the dyno? With someone else driving? Sounds a bit cuckoldish.
I don't consider the dragstrip a fun hobby. I use it to benchmark my car. It is actually pretty fun hitting 200kmh legally as opposed to wiping out a family of four on a motorway or losing your license. You'd find it fun if you went once. I don't drive an hour to get there for fun. I go to test my car. I think I've been 6 times in 3 years. Test stock, test with exhaust, test before/after carbon clean, once for a meet with a pile of Audi owners, and once to drive a friend's car for him.
You yourself have already slagged the fk out of AMD and pointed to their dyno results being b.s and their products being inferior to MRC. Your posts and those others have made along the same lines are living proof of why we over here ask the shops to show us acceleration data rather than dyno data (verified PBOX is fine, certified dragstrip is nicer). I know nothing about the AMD claims because I've seen ZERO acceleration data from AMD so I can't say. Neither have you. I've seen lots of their dyno results that looked great though.

Saki has been banging on about 1/4 mile times for longer than I care to remember.neilparf wrote:+1Silas wrote:One question saki, don't you get bored just doing point to point straight runs???
He just doesn't understand that a good real world car is about HOW the power is delivered AND how the chassis handles it on real roads, i.e. ones with corners.
A Top Fuel dragster makes great power and does stunning 1/4 mile times, but would be a total POS on a real world road.
Straight line acceleration is just one of many factors that determine the usable performance of a car - the fact that after many years he cannot understand that very simple fact proves how narrow minded he is, and how irrelevant his view is to the majority of owners of any performance car.

On a country road, who knows. That's a pretty bold and subjective statement by a guy 3500 miles away talking about a car he sold 5 months ago. I can promise I'd hold my own but speculation or dick measuring about how fast one drives on public roads isn't really my thing. I'd rather see us both put down a lap time if you really wanted to talk <beep>.

Re: Best exhaust system for an RS4?
no, I think your engineerish mind should understand the value of an appropriate test. I'm advocating the 1/4 mile as an acceleration test to identify delta for power mods. THAT'S IT!!!! I am not comparing the RS4 to a top fuel dragster. I'm not comparing it to even an M3. I'm comparing an Rs4 to an RS4...in order to see the delta in acceleration resulting from modifications. How the hell can an engineer not understand this?PetrolDave wrote:Saki has been banging on about 1/4 mile times for longer than I care to remember.neilparf wrote:+1Silas wrote:One question saki, don't you get bored just doing point to point straight runs???

I have suggested the quarter mile as a benchmark to test acceleration. THAT'S IT! I'm not saying it's the true measure of the car...but it's a great measure of how the car accelerates.
As Neil said, 1/4 mile is straight forward, and frankly pretty easy to run . Or to pbox your car through a certain MPH range. It wil lidentify how car A accelerates vs. car B. THAT'S IT!
What kind of MORON would put a car around a corner to measure an acceleration mod? Dave, you aren't seriously advocating putting the car around a few corners to measure acceleration????
You're either not understanding what I suggest the 1/4 mile for (for years you said...so for years you've not been understanding), or you're the worst scientist I've ever met. So...which is it?
