Yes it really is manual, it won't change up for you, I caught the limiter once and it stuttered like a mentalist!
It'll only stutter on the limiter for a second or so, and then shifts up for you
I couldn't see any situation where you'd want it to do otherwise to be honest
See B8 RS4 owner Graemes clarification above.

Probably the best of both tbh.

There is a 1.8% (pre vat) price increase being applied to RS4 from the 1st of Jan 2014. This will not apply to cars tagged or ordered by the 31st of December

what are Audi thinking about????? :audibash:
this seams pointless to me while their offering such large discounts on the product, the only reason their selling so many now is the discount. most folk arnt prepared to pay silly money for an RS4.
id still be on the fence if the discount hadn't been their, this brought the car back into a sort of reasonable price range.

just my 2ps worth.

Could it be they're going to give even bigger discounts after the price increase ,a bit like DFS selling sofas discounted after an inflated rrp.

Audi finance is very confusing the wife was looking at the SQ5 and there were trying to say the least deposit you put down the better for you in the long run. doesn't compute with my brain the bigger deposit and trade in you have there is more equity in the car when the finance is done .
sounds like there want you to borrow more to get them better bonuses or i'm i just being stupid here???

I would normally concur, but....don't Audi guarantee the residual? If so the risk is less with you as the purchaser. However, yes, fundamentally the deal will attract more interest. I'm with you, lob in as much up front as possible.

Don't you pay interest on the whole thing regardless of how much you lob in?

Therefore the less you lob in, the better use you can put it to, be it in the bank or on the stock market...

I'd fecking hope not. You're only financing the difference. I don't see how they can charge you interest on your own money!

Therefore more in equals less interest.

The less deposit you put in on a PCP is better in the long run for one reason. Say you put in £10k, it's now three years down the line, you want another car, the same model, to get similar payments to what you’re now used to making you’re going to need another £10k, and there isn’t going to be £10k equity in the car…

I’m going through a database of PCP customers currently, and the ones that put down the larger deposits are the ones that are harder to renew, which is what the dealer wants you to do in three years, and why they push the PCP over HP etc...

If you’re planning on buying the car at the end of the agreement, put down the maximum deposit allowed, as this will mean you pay less interest. Putting less money in means you will pay more interest, as you're borrowing more, but will be better come renewal time as you won't have to find the fat deposit again.

I can explain it better, but I'm tired.

I get it, it's about the ability to find a deposit down the line. That has to be down to circumstances. Me, I'd always prefer to lob in as much as I can.
