Anyone else owned from new?
Anyone else owned from new?
Hi All
As per the title, I'm always interested to know how many of these glorious cars have only seen one owner. As for mine, coming up for nineteen years in my ownership having driven it out of the showroom brand new. Still puts the same smile on my face now as it did back then

Not me. I have owned mine since 2012 when it was 9 years old.

How's ownership been overall? Any of the usual issues over the years? DRC, TC etc.? How many miles covered?
Re: Anyone else owned from new?
I hope I'm not tempting fate here but my ownership experience has been pretty routine.
Replaced the alternator at 47k miles, still on DRC but with routine shock replacements (although still have one original shock on the car!) and 70,500 miles on the clock.
No problems with the TC (fingers crossed) and only one flush of the gearbox in nineteen years. I've always aimed to keep the car as close to factory standard as possible and fortunately have found all the right people to help me to achieve that.
Hoping for many more years of smiling behind the wheel

Over here in the Colonies, owned mine since new. Was a custom order by another individual in Polar White, he backed out before delivery and it sat on the lot for a couple of months and I got it with urS6 trade-in and a little discount since it had been sitting.
Re: Anyone else owned from new?
No chance I could afford one when they were new. $225,000 when new here in Australia. The C8 start around $285,000

Owned mine since 2018 and its around the 97K mark now
Owning from new would be a benefit as im pretty finicky with repairs etc so you would know who to have fix bits or what has been done etc at least, i have a few issues as anyone would with a 20yr old car but im clearing them up one by one now, although a recent brake fail is now testing my patience
In keeping with the thread, i ordered a new Octavia VRS this year though, due to be delivered in Mar23

3rd owner from new, had it 10 years, 50,000 miles. Very Reliable. 3 cambelt changes & 3 gearbox services, DRC all good. Approaching 80,000 miles.
Best car ever.

That was my concern, i'll stick with old tech still for now, i think the battery car industry wont last anyway as it doesn't seem viable, hydrogen might be the next one coming along

Owned mine since 2011 3rd owner it was on 75k now on 116k. Ive had a few scares and as usual its cost a fair bit but still on original gearbox dont want to tempt fate as its a keeper for me and only gets taken out as a treat now.
