Congratulations arS4 - just make sure you're not in 4th before you get your car!

Thanks Clive,

Nice looking car - however, my labrador would be too appreciative about being put in a Saloon's boot!! :D

Hence my need for an Avant :)

Dan, without writing anything libellous, if you know of a car that other members should avoid, please say so. Simply, "I have looked at a car at XXX dealer/garage etc. and have strong reasons not to buy it" doesn't get you or the site into trouble and if anyone wants any details they can PM you.

No problem - wasn't so much the car but the dealer side. Not going to say anymore on it, but suffice to say, if it had have been the car, I would have mentioned something.

Glad I didn't find this site before I decided to keep my S4!!

Had my car on pistonheads for a while - no interest. Whilst I was waiting - tried the A62.5tdi quattro that I planned to swap 'up to' (bigger and more sensible etc etc 2 kids, you know the story)

90K S4 avant, fash 2 owners, recarro, bose xenon £10K - no interest (proper interest)

Then i decide to keep it (THE A6 AVANT DROVE LIKE A BUS) - and found you lot.

MRC this weekend milltek, short shift and stage 2+

Life's all about timing !!

i know its a saloon, but its got every option and facelift model

remember not to pay over the odds at auctions just incase you have to do work to the car.

That cars got one of the options missing that was a must for me. The recaro seats.

Also, it says it has sat/nav but that looks like the Concert stereo in the dash. I thought that Sat/nav meant you had to have a screen. Is that right or did they do a voice only sat/nav with the Concert stereo? Would it just be the one in the centre of the clocks that they are talking about?

Thanks,
John

Yeah that confused me that one. It always amazes me that someone starts off an advert saying the car is in A1 condition then proceeds on to list a string of small issues. I might be picky here but to me A1 is exactly that. Taking the year into account I wouldn't ecpect an A1 car to need it's brakes doing.....blah blah blah

Looks fairly run of the mill to me

yes i spotted the sav/nav as well, maybe its a typo. or an aftermarket.

but still a cheap S4 ( if sold for under 7K not 12.5k), if you could get your hands on secondhand recaro's and upgraded brakes

You can have satnav without the screen, controlled by a switch near teh cigarette lighter and displayed on the DIS

Going to look/drive an S4 next Thursday. Checked out the insurance side (as my Scooby's got everything bar a personal minder!:D) and it won't need as much (as a specified requirement), but won't stop me persuing other avenues :)

Not too bothered about facelift/pre-facelift, as long as the price is OK. Been looking at residuals anyway, and both seem to be pretty good projected.

My car came without Recaros or SatNav plus. It now has both. Fitting the Recaros was easier than the SatNav though...
