Leaked, bonds in the front of the cassette split.

Quite common apparently!

Well 5 cars on my longlist have sold in the last week - 3 at Audi dealers! So maybe the market has only just recovered from Christmas / Covid-21 ...

Does anybody know this car or it's owner? https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11201657 It's absolutely lovely, but £33k for a private sale seems like a lot, even with only 24,000 miles on it!

Hi Mark, that was my car. Quite a lot of interest from dealers but it went to a local guy, it’s a really nice car.

So dealers were asking you to sell it to them? Interesting...

Hi sleep_envy - Well I imagine the dealers bids came in a lot lower than you were asking, trying to prise in a profit, but it looks like a cracking car in absolutely lovely condition. Hope the new owner is enjoying it and comes on here to say hello! :nodder:

Yes, quite a spread too. I did speak to Walton on Thames Audi as they had a RS6 I was interested in, the sales guy said that there’s very little decent stock about and their trade offers are increasing every month.

Understandably they want to make a living however I was certain the car spoke for itself so wasn’t keen on giving it away.

£29k was the highest trade offer, it sold for not far off the asking.

I went to see the low mile silver B8 on PH yesterday and am a little unsure what to offer.

Pro's
Owner bought it new only selling as emigrating
it has done 17K miles (only used to drive to house in Cotswolds)
Annual service no matter miles
Kept in underground car park so little UV exposure
it feels like a new car

Cons
low spec
2013
none of the drivetrain fluids have been changed
none of the 6 year bits gave been done.
Scuff on rear bumper
Open Circuit fault on the B&O sub

this is not down to owner as he just goes off Audi and as it is under 20K it hasn't triggered the mileage to do anything beyond a oil or inspection.

I know the pitfalls of ultra low miles but all the rubbers looked good inside, outside and underneath.

he went from £29.5 to £31.5 after looking at the market.

I am thinking of starting at 27.5 as despite the mileage it ultimately is low spec (not even full leather), 2013 in a less popular color (although I liked it more than I thought i would) and most 2013 cars are around £27 with much better specs and no matter what Audi has said it needs at £1,500 Service

What are the groups thought?

Graham.

Sounds like a nice car and whilst good to do the gearbox oils now at that mileage and age I suspect it would be fine.

Only you can decide on the spec. If there's something you really want that's missing perhaps its not the one but my car is v high spec and whilst that's nice to me its not the main event. The RS4 is mostly about the engine, the chassis and the exterior styling in my view.

Also I got a Suzuka Grey car, it wasn't my first choice but I really like it and the RS4 is a good looking car in most colours.

Low owner and miles cars are rare. My 2014 car had 5 previous owners when I got it in 2019. To be honest that really scared me but the car has been absolutely perfect.

Do you notice condition and make of tyres?
Tyres are 250 plus each. Also 19 or 29" alloys? Any scuffs?

Hi Graham,

Personally I think the silver is a lovely colour and suits the relatively discreet nature of the car much better than red or white! I went to look at a silver one at an Audi dealer and was surprised at how good it looks .... My 1st choice was the Sepang, but 2nd favourite for me was the Silver you're looking at, especially if it has the "Black Pack". The Black is a bit "hearse like"

So on the car you're talking about - if it has the "Sport Pack" and only one owner with decent tyres - it's got to be worth £29k privately, all day long, due to the mileage. And many buyers prefer the alcantara to the full leather (I know I would have done), although owners with the "non leather" often didn't spec seat heaters (which are nice). The age of the car matters much less than service record, spec and overall condition. As long as you can get a second hand replacement B&O Sub (good negotiating point, but cheap: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A4-S4-B ... lmEALw_wcB) and you have the budget for all the service items - you could be buying a very nice car for a couple of years, with minimal depreciation .... IMHO - probably worth bidding on but leaving on nice terms so that they come back to you when they realise they won't get over £30k and there will be a lot of test pilots coming their way ....

Would you be looking to put an Audi extended warranty on it? If so it can cost £2k, may be worth looking to get an approved used car from Audi that comes with a years warranty.

Almost £30k should give you plenty of choices if you are in no hy

Just as an aside - WBAC have just increased their "offer" by another £500! We're now over £30K - Woo Hoo!!

Let's hope that also spreads to my old one!

Bought the Silver one, had it inspected and the Mechanic said I would be mad if I didn't buy it.

Only thing he found was a very slight leak near the throttle body and recommended the rear tyres be replaced as they are original.

Got £1,500 off so well pleased.

Will post up once I get my hands on it this week.
