I quite like the bright silver wheels to be honest but black hides the brake dust better so maybe anthracite is the good compromise!

Enjoy
I'm at least going to have the wheels coated by the detailer to make cleaning easier.

Lava, Schmava!

Collected her today. 2nd owner added decals and painted the wheels black. I was going to reverse this, not so sure now.

I'd read you were going to get the wheels painted silver and thought don't do it, but seeing the 2 pictures together here, you could be right. I'd remove the decals. Looks really good in Carmine, congrats on the purchase

How about the wheels in anthracite?
Cheers mate, I agree it looks like Carmine too. Apparently it's Guards (and according to the documentation too). My old 911 was carmine, what a colour. Guards is cool too.

When I spoke to my detailer yesterday, he said removing the decals is likely to be very tricky without marking the ppf underneath. It's actually quite a decent job, the previous owner has gone for a cohesive look, not just a "Barry stuck on some decals" job. We'll see, will have a firmer idea after the summer.

Anthracite is a good call.
Ah, it's guards. Guards is a little bit lighter isn't it? Funny how the colour red changes depending on the weather. Either way, looks really smart.
How much better is it than the GTS?

The colours are massively light sensitive. The collection day was overcast which gave it an unusual depth, otherwise guards is obviously more of a 'straightforward' red colour. When I collected my Carmine GTS after being detailed, I had to take a moment to compose myself. A stunningly deep colour, but for me it's a GTS colour only.

In terms of comparison, the GT3 and GTS are hard to split. The GTS is too capable, it is such a great all-rounder that the temptation to use it is too strong. I drove it a huge amount. It never lost the excitement at all but having another car for the grunt work during the week just suits me better.

If specced right (interior pack, comfort seats, pdk, centre locks) it's stunning. The engine note never, ever got old. It's not the quickest, but it's more than fast enough for the road (it's substantially sub-4 to 60). Also, the chassis, steering, ride, poise, balance, feel - all of the elements which add up to a well resolved sports car were there at any speed, in any context.

The GT3 is pretty brutal in comparison. 918 buckets, cage clanking behind your head, stereo completely off, the mechanical sounds of the gearbox as you shift and the savagery of the engine. I was exhausted when I got out of it after collection, blissfully exhaust and battered.

In the GTS, the quality was really high, but there were rattles and squeaks which irritated a bit. Nothing which can't be resolved, pan roof flexed, loose a-pillar trim, but my expensive daily driver expectations kicked in. With the GT3, the noise is all welcome.

The GTS garnered 100% positive attention, some really genuine and fun chats with other enthusiasts. My favourite was when parked at a supermarket. A young bloke, 18 as it turned out, stopped for a chat. He had a pristine 987 Cayman S, lived with his parents and his car was his absolute pride and joy - spotless, gleaming exhaust tips etc. That kind of interaction makes it all worthwhile!

Well, the last 12 months has been frustrating..

My home has been for sale for about 5 months now, decided to move before buying as it's likely I'll keep the RS and want minimum double garage before splurging.

Erring towards 2016 911 turbo S but hopefully get some test drives this year to help make my mind up.

I'm surprised your house has been up for sale that long, houses have been flying around by me, if they stay on the market over 3 weeks it's surprising.

Went in to Porsche yesterday to pick mine up, they say they've been crazy busy and are selling cars they've previously sold for more money than they did 2 years ago.

Yeah, I have no idea why hung around really.

It's not over-priced, actually dropped the price 3 weeks ago.

Sacked the first agent.

Had 1 viewing at the beginning, and 1 viewing later today. In about 5 months!

Only thing with Colchester, it's about the fastest growing town in the UK, has been for years so lots of competition.

Had loads done to the house, with a 5 year fight with Taylor Wimpey, also has 16 years left on solar panels which at 1% inflation gives something like £56k tax free to the next owner....

I'm just lucky Eddy I guess :/

Such is demand that unless you’re looking to buy a specific car there’s little in it for them. Used stock is low and turning around before advertised. Right now, either play the game on offer or wait until the tide turns.
