I'm interested too as well mate, looking forward to Porsche opening back up to see if the prices shift at all.
So am I so I can potentially pick up my new car!

My understanding is you can buy from outside the network, get a porsche inspection and then porsche warranty? Would look fully into all that before purchase.
I think you're right. Footers has been looking at a Panny and trying to get the garage to send it to Porsche to get an inspection so he can get Porsche warranty.

The sweet spot for 911's is normally the 'GTS' range, 997 GTS/991.1 GTS, both manual. Also these will be the best to hold value over time, although the 997 version is becoming vary rare/expensive to the point its closing in on 991.. Obviously the GT3's are better, but with that you lose rear seats and gain more raw power, if you're after something special, then GT3. Turbo's in the 991/2 are great all rounders but you lose the feel as they have ALOT of driver tech, unless you go 997.1 TT .. All of the turbo's are very fast.

So 997 if you want old school feel, 991 if you want more modern. Dont bother with 991.2 onwards they all went 3.0T, the 991.1's were still 3.4 non S and 3.8 s N/A. 992's are just to fat :)

Lava, Schmava!

Collected her today. 2nd owner added decals and painted the wheels black. I was going to reverse this, not so sure now.

I'd read you were going to get the wheels painted silver and thought don't do it, but seeing the 2 pictures together here, you could be right. I'd remove the decals. Looks really good in Carmine, congrats on the purchase

How about the wheels in anthracite?

I quite like the bright silver wheels to be honest but black hides the brake dust better so maybe anthracite is the good compromise!

Enjoy

Satin would be the best bet actually, keeps it OEM looking.
Get some more pics up when it's back from the detailers!

Cheers mate, I agree it looks like Carmine too. Apparently it's Guards (and according to the documentation too). My old 911 was carmine, what a colour. Guards is cool too.

When I spoke to my detailer yesterday, he said removing the decals is likely to be very tricky without marking the ppf underneath. It's actually quite a decent job, the previous owner has gone for a cohesive look, not just a "Barry stuck on some decals" job. We'll see, will have a firmer idea after the summer.

Anthracite is a good call.
