Finally joined the club!!

Post by HorsepowerJames » Wed Feb 17, 2021 1:05 pm

Morning guys, :bigwave:

I finally got to collect my first Audi RS6 up last night after having many fast Audi estates over the years. The love affair started when I got a lovely Guards Red S2 back in the early 00’s.

I’m well happy with the car! I believe it belonged to a previous member on here but not sure who?

It’s had a stage 2 Litchfield tune (Before you all start talking about Litchfield vs MRC I know, I'm booking it in with MRC asap ;-)

It has miltek exhasut and Carbon Forge intake and sounds awesome!

Just one quick question for you all... Is there a way of setting it so that the exhaust valves stay closed always when in cumfort mode? Dont get me wrong I love the sound of it in dinamic mode when I'm in the car on my own or with my mates (once we get out of this COVID nightmare) but it would be nice to be able to keep them closed when I'm doing the family thing. Also is it possible to have it so that the valves are closed on start up as all my neighbours are old farts on thier last legs and it brings back memories of the blits for them!

Here's a couple of pics. Let me know if any of you know the previous owner :rocker:

Thanks Sasa,

Also forgot to ask but what do you guys regard as being the best engine oil to use on these engines?

I’d install the Cete (or Milltek) valve control module. It alters the behaviour so valves are always open in dynamic, closed in comfort (up to 5,000 rpm) and oem behaviour in auto. Plus you can press the ESP button twice to override and open or close the valves. I think it’s ideal!

I installed the Miltek/Cete module for that exact reason. Fitting isn’t to bad. It’s all done at the back end including tapping into the Canbus. So there’s not a lot of cable routing involved.

Congrats on a nice choice, I don’t think you can close valves on startup, but it takes not more than 1 min and they close automatically, but yes if you have old farts neighbors it can be a pain in a ass for them :)

I use this oil

Not sure if it’s of use. But I got the box from ML Performance. They were brilliant with aftercare replying to emails on fitment. As the guide online is pretty poor!

Needless to say once you have the box it becomes pretty clear.

The Cete/Milltek module will keep the valves closed on cold start if you left it in comfort mode.

+1 on using TOTAL Quartz INEO Long Life oil. Not the cheapest but the best
