Suspension musings

Post by Getsumadis » Tue Feb 02, 2021 8:53 pm

Has anyone given thought to or better yet achieved an install of a Tiguan suspension onto a b7 rs4? Obviously seriously hindering track performance, but ground clearance and ability to put some all-terrains on is itching at the back of my mind....pls don't judge me.....or do just make it funny

Haha, oh I get it. Lol it's not in my current plans. Just saw a passat the other day with flares off road tires and lift, and made me think huh? Lol

How about allroad suspension from the C5, think that would be a lot better chance of fitting rather than a tiguan

Pretty sure the allroad is the same platform as A6(c5) at least in the US, where as the tiguan is a variant of the a4 platform(pl/pq ie b6/b7) I know I read somewhere somebody putting a rs4 suspension on a tiguan

PL and PQ platforms are quite different. RS4 is PL which is for longitudal and a torsen diff attached to the gear box for rear drive. The tiguan is PQ which is transverse with haldex mounted in the rear subframe for rear drive, the original tiguan is PQ46, which itself is a derivative of the PQ35, or the mk5 golf chassis. This the post you read was fake news

Oh hmm, OK, like I said I was mostly just curious. I've been considering a move to central America so the thought of how to keep the rs4 but still be able to drive on shitty roads came to mind
