My drivers rear DRC has just started knocking and I'm trying to decide if H&R lowering springs are going to make my car too low as there are some unavoidable speed bumps around where I live.
There you go mine sits 20mm lower than standard love the ride qualityImage

Mine has BC racing coilovers, might be looking in to something else since its way too low even with the spring maxed out in the rear, ride is extremely bumpy in the back too.

Out of interest has everyone who’s fitted these with lowered springs gone for H&R? I notice on eBay there are some Eibach ones for £175 and always thought they were pretty good.

I’ve also heard about Bilstein B8 shocks - anybody tried these?

The KONI dampers ( shocks ) are suitable for both normal and lowering springs . I would say that 20% of our customers buy the H&R springs with the shocks and some kits we supply go into cars already lowered with H&R . the results are simply perfect . The shocks are set up specifically for the RS models unlike most of the competition ,
I cant comment on Eibach as i have never tried it .! With something like this i dont know if its worth the Gamble of using something other than the tried and tested recipe to save 40 to 50 quid to be honest ( labour to change springs is 100 to 150 quid ? )
Bilstein B8 is a good quality shock and if you do track days they will cope . The problem is they are Mono tube hi pressure gas which makes the ride harsh and they arent adjustable so they are set up for the S4 not the bigger braked RS4 . This is why the KONI RS4 offering is so good !!

In the market for a change from DRC and have been keeping up on reading the posts on Kones.

If you could send on some info for B7 Avant it would be great.

Sent pm as well for safety...

Hi there . The KONI shocks are the most comfortable replacement kit for the RS4 with out doubt

Coil over kits are just too ,much for these types of car ( unless you track it all time )

they are £645.00 a set , stock should be with us soon .

The Orange shocks are not damping adjustable so will never be up to the standard of the Kit we sell which comes balanced and adjusted to perform in the RS4
they arent ideal even though they will fit , the KONI RS4 kit we do is so much cheaper than the DRC repair , replacement is it really a good idea to compromise the ride to save a few more quid ?? . we have used the Orange at the rear as an emergency stop gap while waiting for stock , but definately not good to do at the front . they simply aren' t strong enough .

thing is the adjustability thing goes out the window when fitted...are the damper rods the same diameter on both orange and the yellow adjustable items?

Having developed a leak from one of my DRC pipes, I'm going to give the Koni shocks a go.
I've spoken to Steve at length about what he does and he is certainly passionate about his work. He is confident the shocks will provide a set up very similiar to DRC, so once they've been installed I'll update this thread with my thoughts
Excuse the thread resurrection but how did you find the Koni's in the end, Max?

I'm looking at buying a B7 RS4 and there is one with the Koni's fitted and various others with coilovers.

I have them on my 6 plus. A firmer ride than the standard drc.
