Hi

The V10 from the 4S R8 has new ignition coils and new ignition plugs.

These can only be better than the old parts.

Hi

After replacing the wishbones, the question of the wheel load arises in detail.

I think that looks good, slightly higher in the back right and good.

Hi

There were already flooded engine control units because too much was cleaned with the high-pressure cleaner.
Here is the solution with a rubber seal as a rain gutter for water.
Place shown with red arrow in the picture where the water can penetrate the coupe and the solution in green.

Hi

And now something that the RS4 B7 drivers might be interested in.

On the R8 V8, the intake valves were switched to a thin shaft from 2010. See picture 1.

The advantage here is that there is less carbon on the valves due to the higher temperature.
The further advantage is a better passage and thus more power.

Image

Audi made the real highlight in the development of the V10 in the 4S, here they have taken a smaller
exhaust valve, which is 1mm smaller and the plug and play with the old V8 and V10 as well as the RS4 B7 V8.

The engines reach their maximum speed in less time, 20% faster than the old V10.
Exhaust valve old 28mm, exhaust valve new 27mm

Awesome, isn't it ?

interesting, are you taking the cylinder heads off and getting the valve seats cut/machined to the new exhaust valves? Or are you re-lapping the valves back in?

Hi

The new valves have the same seat angle as the installed valves. The new valves, lapping / grinding done.

Hi

Here is something about air filters made by an automobile club. Unfortunately for you in German, but can be read easily with a translation machine.
It is shocking how bad the foam filters perform in terms of dirt permeability. My finding coincides with this test.

Hi

I made the decision to dispose of the air conditioning this winter.
I haven't used the air conditioning for years and thus the weight of the R8 is reduced by 10-12 kg and the loss of
power due to the air conditioning compressor, which is always idling, is eliminated.

Hi

Removing the air conditioning compressor is too much work.
Remains where he is.

The V8 has parts that can be replaced by lightweight V10 parts.

There are the hoses on the cooling water box, inlet and outlet made of aluminum from the V10.

The surface on the inlet manifold for the TB was also placed vertically, in series the are slightly inclined forward.

Hi

New year and let's go, further modify.
I've heard that filters with a foam cover should be better than series and I'm interested in whether they're better than my big K&N.
The test with a vacuum cleaner was 1 to 1, both of which had a pressure of 0.01 bar generated.

Hi

Shortly before the start of the season there is a new diffuser.

The old diffuser from 2013 was too aggressive for me and the current one is optically very close to the GT diffuser.

Hi

Let's see if this carbon / aluminum anti roll bar can be installed.
3.17 kg is its weight for the front axle.
