Air Box
Seeing as it's Christmas and you'd need someone to bring something like this on a sleigh, has anyone ever fitted the Gruppe M airbox to the RS6? Early morning curiosity. I read up that the ram air setup was a dud on the B7 RS4 and this seems to be a rehash of the OE Airbox design rather than sticking a cone filter into the system.
Other than hearing the name, I've no experience with the brand or it's products other than it's Japanese.
My Car came with BMC filters and I'm toying with reverting to the OE Paper elements so the Gruppe M isn't really on my list of must haves.

Re: Air Box
Missed out the "LOT" of money. May and may not be some improvements but the larger size makes me wonder how much extra difficulty there is in getting it on and off. With my original, it looks like some idiot cracked the air box base when trying to get it off. It's been fixed but clearly the attempt fell foul of the two securing nuts and perhaps the locating pegs stuck in the grommets as well. Some of the people let loose on these cars are a menace.

Re: Air Box
does anyone know what the part number of the BMC panel filters is for our cars?
Re: Air Box
The general consensus on here is that the BMC filters aren’t worth fitting. There Is minimal gains (none?) from them and the standard ‘paper’ type are so cheap, most are of the opinion that you’re better off just fitting new paper ones every so often.
It has been covered on here a few times in the past.

yup, I have read that. I have pretty much run bmc/k&n filters in all my audis and my personal choice. Here in sunny South Africa I still need to import them as there arenyt any local suppliers that carry the k&n for the rs6 so just seeing if anyone has the BMC's locally.

BMC F188. Sold for a range of cars so you may be able to identify them from another car brand if Audi don't come up as a fit at your dealer.
I removed mine. As part of the full makeover after purchase I put two new MAF in and not prepared to risk any oil contamination so back to paper filters. Many drivers have reported no issues with the filter and their MAF but I've chosen to go the safe route.
