AU65 OVV Daytona grey, anyone know the car?

Post by Toady1 » Tue Oct 08, 2019 3:31 pm

Hi, another car that has caught my eye but looks like bumpers may have been sprayed due to a slight difference in colour. Could be just photo though. Does anyone know any information on this car? Thanks

Looks nice colour - might have had paint on the front with the mileage for the stone chips.
My only comments.
No camera
Alcantara, I thought leather was standard on the non PE and standard on the PE - didnt realise it was an option on the non PE
20's but less likely to bend
Check date of last service
last time brakes were done - Pads and front discs are circa £1200 fitted

Thanks Iain, I've just sold my C6 RS6 and know a lot about them and their pitfalls, but not a lot about the C7 yet. I've been reading the turbos are getting prone to failure. This car has only had three oil changes as it's on the variable scheme. Done in 2016, '17 & '18 @ 16k, 34k and 51k. That mileage seems quite far apart for my liking.

The alcantara, are you saying that it's an upgrade?

How do you tell it has no reverse camera?

I've never had any big problems with my C7s' - only thing thats ever gone wrong is a lamda? sensor and DRC failed, which seems to be a common theme, hence I went air this time around and cant tell the difference - mileage is fine - it's probably sat on a motorway and these things are big lazy engines :) - I am unsure on the alcantara tbh could be an upgrade - one of the other more informed members can probably shed more light - I just remember never seeing alcantara on the configurator

One of the pics has a graphical representation of the sensors parking, hence no camera - it's surprisingly common not to have a camera, god only knows why at that price point it was an option. I knocked back 2 on the basis no camera when looking - I managed to reverse into a lamppost in an X5 with both camera and sensors screaming at me, along with other half too!!!

Mine is on a 20k service interval and runs like a dream.. Mate has a 64 plate 75k 6 on 20k intervals and he swears it's better with that mileage than it was when he bought it *TartanRob* on here.

THe C6 had a reverse camera and with all the dwarf walls near me it saved me a few times! Can they be retro fitted?

I've heard the turbo strainer mesh gets clogged up killing turbos. Just at the point now of doing the research.

Doing oil change every 15000 km is very good for an engine if you are stock. I also had a problem in one lambda sensor and one tpms sensor failed, car has 111.000 km on clock (2014 model)

The PE introduced the hex stitched alcantara seats but pretty sure the diamond stitched alcantara was always an option on non PE.

It definitely was at some point, pretty sure it came and went. Not in an Oct 2014 brochure I have to hand for FL.

Yeah Mike and doodlebug are right,

I have a 2014 price list and it is listed in here as a no cost option. So the standard was the honeycomb leather and a no cost option was the Leather/Alcantara diamond stitched design.

Yes, either single rear view or full surround view. When I was looking at a car at Leicester Audi last year that didn't have the rear view camera, they recommended a local car electrical specialist who quoted £799 for the OEM option fitted and coded. I've since seen other places advertising full surround view for £1500+

In the end I bought a car with full surround and its been a life saver given my works underground car park, its just a shame that the resolution of the cameras isn't that good.

This is standard according to the brochure.

Seats ► Valcona leather upholstery ► RS Super Sport front seats with driver’s side memory function including: ► Stitched honeycomb quilted design with embossed RS logo ► Electrically adjustable seat height ► Electrically adjustable upper backrest angle ► Electrically adjustable seat cushion angle ► Electrically adjustable seat forwards and backwards position ► 4-way electric lumbar support ► Heated front seats ► Split-folding rear seats

This is the PE from the brochure:

Specification in addition or replacement to RS 6 Avant
Seats ► Leather and Alcantara upholstery – with honeycomb stitching in blue

Make of that what you will.

Yes, its on the AUDI longlife service regime. I think it is over due a service looking at these dates too.

I've done some more digging on the car and it was a company car for an IT director. Sold end of last year, and I'm guessing that the current trader bought from them around Nov/Dec. The current trader told me he sourced it for his father in law as he wanted a fun car to also put the grandkids in, then realised they couldn't fit three kid seats in the back. Though they must have had it for nearly a year, but....still registered in the 1st owners name (probably to make it still look like a one owner car). He is now trying to sell it for his FIL.

Think they do that <beep> for cheap car insurance too, ie traders insurance rather than personal? So they can run it themselves
