Early shift between 1st and 2nd

Post by floatdrop » Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:26 am

Greetings from Australia,

WOT, trans shifts at aprox 5000 rpm rather than redline. Just had injectors ultrasonically cleaned and inlet ports de-carbonised. Mapped, BMC filters and sec cat delete, all a couple of years ago. 660hp at wheels. Transmission map is std. Could the transmission map be upshifting early due to higher than expected torque?

What happens if you accelerate at less than full throttle, so the torque isn't higher than expected?

Hi Nick

50% of WOT, manual shift off paddles, still changes automatically at 5-5500 rpm.

When did it start behaving like this - was there a particular trigger event?

Nick,

After the injector and carbon clean.
I had the transmission rebuilt around 18 months ago, had them check it, oil looks good, no fault codes. Leaning toward something not connected correctly after the clean.
