TCU / R-Tronic remap

Post by SteveG » Sat Jun 18, 2016 8:38 am

Hi Guys, has anyone had this done, and please review including recommending a specialist. Any drawbacks like clutch or gearbix issues ?..MRC have no options for me.

Ricky ?

Yes
Totally ruined the car, although that was combined with a ceramic clutch, so unsure if related

But honestly I wouldnt bother

R-tronic is <beep>, polishing a turd won't help, just spend your money on Super Unleaded and enjoy.

Have done it last week and has a night and day difference.
This is what Audi should have done in first place.
Bought the tmc Motorsport upgrade and it works plug and play
Rs6 plus black and cognac
9 x 20" et29 rs4 with 265-30-20 Michelin ps2
9 x 20" et26 rs4 b8 winter wheels with 235-35-20 Michelin pilot alpine
Tinted windows all around
MRC stage2 plus tune to 553ps and 822nm incl. Gearbox tune
Audi TT-S multifunctional steering wheel with flippers
517 trans box
Milltek exhaust including down pipes
RS6 C7 exhaust tips
Wagner inter coolers
Full Audi S8 ceramic brake set including electronic handbrake
Oh yeah and a 2008 Audi R8 V8 R-tronic

I know this is an old thread but looking at an old R8 with the R tronic box. I’ve seen various forum threads and most say go S tronic which I totally understand having owned several Audi cars with S tronic but price wise the old cars are looking tempting for a bit of fun😁 Any more advise from others with R tronic would be much appreciated 👍
