infotainment screen drive packing up

Hi everyone, my infotainment screen drive mechanism is packing up and the screen makes terrible noises as it winds out. I am a bit disappointed as the car is only 45,000 miles and used mostly long /very long journeys, so the number of actual screen deployments is very low. It is a very early FL car from March 2015.

It is a known problem on these cars; it has cropped up in a number of threads but I am struggling to find some hard facts beyond casual references.

Has anyone had their screen drive mechanism replaced? If so, was it done out of warranty as goodwill or charged for? (A USA thread mentioned $1300 to repair!!).

Seems that newer cars has more problems than pre facelift cars
