FBSW Trim

Post by FrazerD » Tue Jun 04, 2019 5:58 pm

Hi folks,

The bottom trim piece for the flat bottom steering wheel has been discontinued from Audi and there’s not a chance I am paying £540 for the one on eBay :audibash:

I have purchased the B5 RS4 badge but I have heard that the trim piece can be a bit dodgy coming off so I’m wondering if anyone has got one lying around because they changed their trim piece. Has to be in great condition but the badge can obviously be worn.

Long shot but just thought I would cover my bases for when the time comes to change them.

Cheers

Tell me about it, it’s a joke. I would imagine the seller has got wind that they are discontinued and just made up a price.

Surely a custom carbon fibre one wouldn't cost that much !!

A gold plated one might even come in cheaper.

My car is in for some body work repairs and the painter tells me that quite a few pieces of trim have now been discontinued.

Might be time to start stocking up on spares whilst you can still get them....

Have you asked your painter about refurbishment?
If not cracked he could use filler if required and paint it.

I've got one somewhere, my badge was worn so ended up buying a new trim.. However I did break one of the tabs taking it off but you wouldn't notice. I'll dig it out and can send you pics if you want..

Yea that would be grand. It’s just in case mine isn’t easy to take off.
