Well after nearly 2.5 years, the Plastidip front started to look pretty ratty.

So a pressure wash and some WD40 helped clean it up.

I think I will go back to the all black / Ti look but this time going to get it done properly and have the grille, surround and fog light covers painted a gloss black. Until then, I'll enjoy the silver face for a change.

Two and a half years isn’t too bad considering the heat out there. Are you planning on doing your window trim and roof rails too?

Cheers

Been thinking about changing the wheel colour too. They need the gravel rash repaired anyway...

Saw this on the forums recently and love those BBS wheels.

Been thinking a similar colour - like a bright titanium, if it can be done. How do people think it will look on an Avus car? Something like this, but ideally darker.

Yep but I will probably leave the silver mirrors as-is - I like them as an RS symbol. Also going to go darker tint. Now just need to convince the minister of finance that this is an appropriate use of funds...

2.5 years wasn't too bad, though it only looked really nice up close for about 6 months. For the next 2 years it was OK, but kind of looked like oldish black plastic.

Minor update today - had the front passenger airbag replaced under the takata recall.

Also have a new set of R8 ignition coils and Hitachi injectors waiting to go in shortly, will be interested to see whether fuel economy improves.

It was an old post of yours that made me do it. That, and finding out that in S mode the valves stay closed between 2-4k rpm or so.

Still a little quiet - considering going for some catless 2.75" downpipes as well.

Excellent, I bet you are using more fuel now. Have you still got your resonator or is that already gone?

Cheers

Centre res is gone and replaced with an x-pipe. Did that within weeks of buying. I'd also asked the pre-cats be removed at the time but I'm not sure that was actually done.

Installed new injectors and replaced coil packs with R8 ones today to correct a (rare) misfire on startup issue. Also had my workshop look into my fuel usage which was ~23L/100km (around 10mpg) - fuel trims were way off. Initially I was just going to get the injectors cleaned, but after reading a few horror stories of injector failure causing engine damage here and on Audizine I decided to play it safe.

Looking to get the paint touched up in the near future ready for sale towards the end of the year. I love this car, but the ongoing costs are getting silly for a 12yr old vehicle and while the KW V3s are excellent, on Adelaide roads they are starting to get a bit much for stiffness. I also miss RWD and my wife can't drive manual, so I'm looking at moving to an F80 M3 with DCT. It never snows here and rains maybe 5 days a year, so I don't really need AWD like you guys in the UK do.

Paint touch ups done last week. Car looking very nice and fresh now with the stone chips all sorted.

Also had my wheels touched up from the gutter rash and repainted some black interior panels where something had spilled and worn the paint away. If anyone wants to do this themselves - Krylon Camouflage Ultra Flat Black is a near identical match to the Audi paint.

Are you still thinking of selling Alex, or have you recovered from the bump on the head?

The wife not being able to drive manual is a plus point, surely?

If you do move to the dark side though, all I have to say is... Bye Felicia.

Yeah still planning to sell. It's up for sale now. I may or may not have priced it a little high - perhaps I subtly don't want it gone. It's the only B7 RS4 Avant for sale in Aus right now so no idea where to price it. RS4 Avants are all over the Shop with pricing here.

Below is a pic of the painted rear boot trim, left side painted right side factory - you can see a very slight change in the gloss level but it's bloody good.

Tossing up between a F80 M3 and Range Rover Sport. Weird decision I know but I want something comfortable and with good ride height for 95% of my driving, but I'm also a car nut and want something fast and low and nice looking.

Maybe an M5 is a good compromise. Still can't afford a C7 RS6 Image

All prettied up for sale. I have the aluminium belt Line trim on the RR door arriving tomorrow - the old one had a scratch on it so had it removed when I had the paint chips sorted.
