Steering Wheel Badge

Post by super7 » Sat Feb 02, 2019 7:53 am

So my son (3yrs) popped out my steering wheel badge and lost it a few months ago.... after scouring the forums and eBay seems these are getting less and less and going up in price. No aftermarket alternative either.

Ended up pulling the trigger on a genuine one as I’m sick of seeing the hole. Makes the wheel look tatty.

Crazy cost tho.... someone should start 3D printing these!

Which wheel do you have?

I have a feeling this badge is for the b5 or b7 non flat bottom wheel as I don't think you can buy the badge separately for a flat bottom wheel.

A good post going into detail here viewtopic.php?t=114654

Nightmare... pricey badge not to fit. I’ve got the flat bottom. I’ll see what I can do to make it fit. If kit looks like I’ll end up buying a whole flat bottom piece. Seems to be the only way.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, I've never actually seen anyone try to fit one of these so you never know.

I had a quick look as I need to get round to swapping the bottom trim at some point and there is some available on eBay Germany for around £100.

If it's worth anything that badge also fits an audi TT sline multifunction flat bottom steering wheel . So may well fit .

So it was the wrong fit! I’ll be eBaying that at a loss or put
It on here.

New flatbottom ordered €112.85.... jeez.

Is it just the ' lugs' on the badge that are different or the actual badge size ? If the former could you not file them round to fit ?

I probably could have done the only thing is the badge has a slight curve to it. So wouldn’t fit flush. Rather than force it and potentially be annoyed at how it looks I shelled out.
