RS4 Rear brake OEM caliper part number and rear brake upgrade options?

Post by vr6bomber » Wed Jan 09, 2019 5:41 pm

Greetings from the US,

I am looking for the OEM part numbers for both rear b5 RS4 calipers.

Also,
What is the most common and cost-effective rear brake upgrade?
Do B7 RS4 rear calipers and rotors fit the b5?

Thanks for the information!
James

Yes they do fit . No brake performance gain .Only aesthetics. Eurocarparts will do an exchange basis for your old ones for iirc TRW ones .

Thanks for the info!!
Do the B7 RS4 calipers fit onto the b5rs4 without any other provision? Bolt on?
Must I pair them with b7 RS4 rotors? I read something about needing to drill into the uprights?

Yes you will need to use the B7 rotors with the B7 calipers / carriers and splash guards.. You will have to enlarge the hole in the upright as the bolt is a larger diameter on the B7 . To get to the lower hole you have three options a) remove the hub , b) grind a scallop into it so you can drill the hole straight , c) remove the upright completely and drill from the rear .
People have used a nut and a bolt with a ' grippy ' washer to some effect.
Like I said in the other thread not any benefit I and others have noticed apart from aesthetics.
