Emergency Fuel Flap Pull

Post by jordanbutters » Mon Jan 07, 2019 6:33 pm

Hey all – it looks like the fuel flap release actuator has given up on my RS4 Avant and the flap is locked shut. Whilst I order a replacement, does anyone know where the emergency release pull cord is on the Avant model? I'd expect it to be behind the driver's side boot panel but I have the Bose system in there and can't see it (unless it's behind the amp and sub, which is chocolate teapot territory when it comes to accessibility.

Doesn't it say where it is in the manual?

It’s in the boot, right hand side, remove the small flap on the side, you use the locking wheel nut head to unscrew, there is a red plastic pull cord in there.

I didn't even think about that when mine went, about six weeks ago!

It seems to be missing in mine.

When I had to replace my Bose amp the release cable ended up falling down into the recess. I only noticed when putting the cover back on so had to take the amp back out again to retrieve it!

Likely your one is still there, only hidden under the amp.

Must be a red car thing....
