Hi

So I bought this: Tune2Air WMA3000A...but it doesn’t fit the dock in the glovebox. Should it? Or am I supposed to plug it into the back of my stereo?

So...bit of a result...used the Tune2air on my C6 thus leaving me with my iPod to use in the b7 for now. I did take the RNS-E out to see if I could plug the T2A into the back but no. So not a total loss. Now I just need a T2A that’ll plug into an iPod dock.

You need a wma1000 that has the 30 pin ipod connection from the older generation ipods pre lightning connector.
2007 B7 RS4 Saloon, Phantom Black, Forge Oil Cooler Kit, custom home made air feed, H&R Coilovers, H&R anti roll bars, 10mm H&R Spacers, Milltek decat downpipes, Milltek Non Res Valved Exhaust, Reyland Motorsports front & rear discs with Hel braided Hoses, full underbody overhauled inc powdercoated subframes and arms, 034 solid subframe bushes and every joint, arm or bush replaced.

My bad, I’d pointed to the 3000, but in my defence did say check before buying.

Win win though, just buy the 1000 for the B7 and you’re covered for both cars. 👍

Just to add to the discussion, you have a Mk1 RNS-e with the iPod dock. It was optional instead of the CD Multi changer. I’m pretty sure it’s not a case of plug and play to swap them. The cable from the head unit is different and also, I’m pretty sure it needs to be coded.

The Bluetooth dongle is by far the easiest way to go.
The iPod dock is a straight swap for the CDC - it just pops out of the dashboard and the other goes in. It is possible this isn't the case if it is an option but I know people used to buy them from eBay and they went straight in.

Interesting. That clears that up, then.

Update - the 1000 has sorted the streaming. Can’t quite get the phone to work yet (am assuming it should), will keep trying.

just came across this post and have the same issue, I have the ipod dock too. Has anyone actually got the exact item that I can purchase and plug straight in as ive seen a number of things and options listed but nothing stating it actually fits or works ? Just wondered if there is something I cant buy on amazon that I can just plug straight into the glove box and then play music from my phone. Cheers

That's a Mk2 (2010+) RNSe and AMI retrofit. Expensive but the best OEM solution.

This is the ipod dock that swaps straight in for the CDC in the GB - just unplug and plug in. It will record an error on VCDS re the CDC I think unless can code it for iPod vs CDC as it was an option for the B7 I believe.
