Clunking between 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd

Post by demon8991 » Sun Jan 06, 2019 7:04 am

Hi All,

As a new owner I am still getting used to the car and how it drives.

I noticed there is a slight clunk occasionally between 1st and 2nd gear and then between 2nd and third. This happens when the car is warm so I can't put it down to being cold.

You can feel it and also hear it, passenger confirms the sound too.

Is this normal?

Sorry just want to add more context to this as I may have not been clear.

The noise only happens when I physically move from 2nd to 3rd (at 3-4k) before I lift off on the clutch or add throttle. 1st can sometimes be a little fiddly and occasionally a noise when I move into 2nd.

If i double clutch up-shift it doesn't appear to do it and if the car it appears normal too.

I am toying with the idea of replacing the gearbox and diff oil and adding a treatment while I am there.
