Seized valves

Post by MrRSB7 » Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:08 am

Hi

My valves are seized on the rear back boxes of the standard exhaust

I’ve mananged to prize them permanently open with a seelection of tools..... hammer and large flat head screwdriver

I doubt I’ll ever be able to close them again given how stiff they were, Unless there is a magical way of getting them to release and work again??????

If not,....Should I be sealing vacuum pipes or leaving connected?

Thanks

Depends if you want them to close again or not. I disconnected my valves to leave them permanently open. If you are happy with that then job done. If you want them to work the spray a bit of wd40 or rust release type spray and keep prodding them open and closed and they'll eventually work again.

Thanks

Yes I’d like them to open/close ideally

But if I can’t get them to do so, I’ll leave them in the open position.... but what about the vacuum pipes, if the valves are stuck open, should i remove and seal the pipes? Or leave them as they are??

I'd just leave them.
