Difficulty engaging gear can be clutch, wouldn't be surprised if it was after 107k but I'd also expect the bite point to have lowered. Clutch fluid isn't a big job, so I reckon do that first and see what symptoms remain.
My clutch bite point felt spot on, but had difficulty engaging first gear. The clutch was done and all perfect now. I would say you need to get the clutch/flywheel done.

I had the same issue with the clutch sticking after hard acceleration. Replaced the clutch with a SPEC Stage2+ clutch and also went with single mass flywheel from SPEC and the issue was solved. Still running on the orignal return pipe.

well sadly due to shipping companys who suck, the parcel is being held for 10 days at customs before they can clear it!!! so the flywheel is not likeley to arrive untill 25th december as apposed to the 10th like they told me so anyone ordering from rock auto please expect LONG waits for your parts :(

Won’t arrive 25th either as Christmas Day. You might be lucky and get it before, but likely 27th onwards. :(

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I reckon this will be a relevant topic for B7 RS4 owners who are still driving their lovely machines given the age (and implied mileage) of these B7s now. I just had a quick email exchange with a salesperson at Sachs Performance because I am looking to replace my entire clutch assembly. He tells me that Sachs and LUK do not make dual mass flywheels, only reduced weight single-mass versions. He was surprised when I said LUK DMFs are quite easily available on websites like Rockauto and Cartech-one. When I forwarded him the weblink, he said the listed product is for an A3 and the power rating (max threshold) is substantially lower than that for a B7 RS4. Is anyone here able to shed some light on this? I just ordered a slew of parts incl the LUK DMF from Rockauto yesterday morning, before my chat with the salesperson. Just wondering if I need to cancel this order before it gets Fedex-ed.

I just had (2 weeks ago) the LUK DMFW and new clutch kit fitted, having purchased from Rockauto...it was for a B7 RS4, so I’m not sure why you were told what you were.

What’s the product code for the DMFW, you’ve ordered?

The part number is DMF077, as listed on the rockauto website. I’ve asked rockauto to double check that the LUK product is indeed designed for a B7 RS4. I was surprised to hear that from the Sachs sales guy especially after reading that quite a few members here have bought the said DMF from rockauto and installed without any issues (or so I hope). Let’s see what rockauto says.

Yep, that was the DMFW I ordered. The clutch kit was LK02-050. They’re the parts that quite a few of the members in the US, on Audizine have ordered and fitted.

Not sure why you were told they’re not RS4 parts.
