Finally got a B7 RS4 Avant... in the best colour too [emoji3]

Post by fairzy » Wed Oct 10, 2018 8:32 pm

After 8 months of searching and looking at 12 cars I finally found the B7 I was after. Fortunately it was the colour and spec I really wanted too.

It’s a 2007 mugello blue Avant with 52k miles on the clock and a well documented history.

It’s off to MRC soon to have a health check and a few other bits but for the time being I’m just enjoying it for what it is. It’s never had a carbon clean so am expecting that a decent clean out will make a huge difference...

I don’t think it’s been on the forum. An older guy had it who owned a garage. He only did 8k in the last 6 years or so and sold it as he was struggling to get over the seat bolster.

I’ve already changed the interior bulbs to LEDs and updated the maps to 2018. Replacement white DRLs are on order. Other stuff to be done:

- Carbon clean / stage 2 map
- Centre resonator delete / gut pre-cats
- Detail and paint correction
- Wheel spacers
- Save for when DRC breaks 😢

Also thinking of having manifold de-flapped and stage 1 or 2 when at MRC but after loads of forum reading (both here and Audizine) I’m still no wiser as to the benefits of doing it.

Wow 8k in 6 years, Iv done that in just over a year! Credit where it’s due, it’s a cracking example.

Centre res delete and pre cat delete will really bring out the v8 growl. It will definateley benefit from a carbon clean if it has never been done.

There are benefits to de flapping/porting and polishing, it definateley slows the carbon buildup down.

There is no stage 1 for the b7 at mrc anymore they just don’t do it.

I’d reccomend doing gearbox/rear diff oils if they haven’t ever been done along with pas fluid.

Thought that was my old one for a minute. Looks great and Mugello is a fantastic yet very underrated colour. Sounds like you’ve got good plans for it. Enjoy.

My word best looking one I've seen. Mugello works wonders on the B7, if you're ever in the market to sell please give me a shout.

Where did you get the 2018 maps from?
Thanks
