Warranty Replacement Vehicle

Post by anth8910 » Thu Sep 06, 2018 12:20 pm

Hi All,
My R8 has a warranty fault and will be off the road awaiting a part for a week or so. Audi UK have tried to fob me off with an A6 diesel. What are my rights to a replacement vehicle? I’m not expecting another R8 but I’d think something a bit more pokey than a diesel A6 should be offered.
Anyone with experience of this on here?

Good luck with that one. I remember when my car was in and out for warranty repair work as the car developed a fault which they couldn't seem to fix. After a while I kicked off and told them to compensate me with a high end replacement vehicle. They agreed and gave me a 3.0 V6 Biturbo A6 - but nothing fancier than that was on offer. First time I experienced lane assist though! No harm in asking them given your issues.

See if you can have a chat with the dealer principle, or at least someone who's not just associated with the service/warranty side of things
The decent cars in the dealership will all belong to the sales side, and they'll have bookings for them as demo's. Whereas the service department (who you'll undoubtably be dealing with) will have a fleet of the shittier end of the range cars, which is what you're being offered
Assuming you bought your car from that dealership, you could be in a good position to blag a car from the sales side of the dealership as hopefully they'll value your custom. Put a spin on it like you're considering an RS5 for your wife or some other line of comparable bullshit and they'll normally take the bait.
The sales side won't let them out easily though as they're using them to bring customers in and offer them tests, as those sales are what pays their wages, so you're facing a tough battle if you've not got a good relationship with the dealer already

They’ve hired in a R8 V10 Plus for me. I think the issue may be little more serious than initially thought.
