well, I'll be using it every day but i also do quite a bit of fast road driving on good smooth A roads.
Having recently moved from a sport suspension equipped 911 (which I didn't find too hard for everyday use), i find the body control, turn in, pitch and dive of the RS4 utterly shocking. it does not inspire confidence in any way and is far too soft for a car of this performance.
the standard shocks were shot when I bought the car, so I recently changed them for new standard shocks (waste of cash) thinking it would stiffen things up, it did a bit but still no good in my opinion.
i have heard good things about the h&r setup in that is suits the car well, is reasonably progressive and can be set up to suit most tastes. I'd like to lower it a bit too.
any advice would be appreciated.
cheers,
Steve.

Steve,
I've not driven a host of RS4s to compare, but I was in a similar situation to you - bought car with soggy (60k) suspension.... but I went straight for the H&R PCS kit - vast improvement - total transformation in fact. It's set to roughly mid-point, so it can be firmed up further for track days.
I'm considering adding ARBs, but I'll see how it fairs on track on the 10th first...

Yes, stiffer all round, with less roll, pitch and dive.
PCS = Power Control System.
IIRC the retail price has just gone up to £1400 - I got them from QST.
I have KW kit on my TT that I'm also happy with - went PCS as I wanted it fitting and QST don't do the KW stuff

I'd recommend the KW v3 for the RS4. If you're feeling up to it, add in a full set of Powerflex bushes, and those big chucky H&R ARBs.

About a grand - http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q= ... CcountryGBso how much is the KW stuff and where do I get it from ???
Call around for the best prices, but K300 should be a good bet - Might help if you mention RS246

True. But ultra expensive, and seems like too much of a chore to locate the external reservoirs. The KW set to medium/hard is perfect for road and frequent track usage.Dont muck about, put Stasis kit on the Car.

I tried Quattro Sport and H&R PCS, both are festering in my garage. Suspension Guru at Harvey Bailey Engineering test drove standard set up and in the end provided me with New springs and revalved Bilsteins. Iwill ask PhilT to have a go next time we meet. (Northern Meet) and see what he thinks. I missed the opportunity at Donington -I was on call.
Very interesting. No way of adjusting anything I take it?waitey1 wrote:I tried Quattro Sport and H&R PCS, both are festering in my garage. Something that's puzzling me about all ride height units. Are you simply lower the height of the car by reducing the amount of pre-load on the spring? By that I mean simply, unwinding the amount the spring is pre-compressed?
If this is the case then surely this results in the car feeling soggy as you introduce more sag into the damper?
