Front Headlight Level Sensor

Post by Jon_J » Tue Jun 19, 2018 12:42 pm

Whilst fitting my Coilovers recently I decided it would make sense to get the Headlight Level Sensor out the way so as not to break it. I unclipped the the part attached to the lower arm and the metal clip thing disintegrated into rusty dust.

This bit:

I had a quick look and I don't seem to be able to buy just the clip, you have to get the whole sensor at £180 odd quid.

Anyone else had this and done anything different?

I think it's either new part or bodge it with cable ties.

Are you sure you can't just buy the rod with the clip on it?

Had the same issue with my old M3 and BMW sold me a rod & clip for about £35.

I can’t see it listed as a part?

No

I ended up cable tying it to the arms in the end.

Didn’t have a fault. I removed the switch to change the arm. It broke when I took it off.

I’ve bought a new arm and sensor. Will fit this afternoon. Hopefully that will fix it.
