Well at least the OP was honest from the outset...last time it was ‘I just bought my RS6 and it’s gone pop and now it turns out it was tuned’...until a bit of digging by a forum member revealed the truth! Did we ever find out the end result on that one? Suspect this one will be the same....go into silent running and slink away.
£12k...you’ll need a pallet load of lube to take that hit. Insurance payout?

My 1st RS4 B7 tomatoe was MRC Stage 2 mapped and the engine, 2 x clutches both EPROMs etc etc were replaced under Audi warranty no questions asked. I didn't tell them it was mapped but it did have a Milltek exhaust KW suspension etc etc. Make sure that the EPROM is completely removed of the map, your tuner should know how to do this and put latest Audi map on.

A complete new box seems far fetched, a reputable specialist should beable to sort it.
Once it’s all in bits would be interesting to know what failed and why so.

Theres always one. Did you declare mods to your insurance ?

Out of interest, who did you tune the car with? Also (and hopefully you declared the full mods to your insurance) seeing as a new gearbox isn’t going to be cheap, would your insurance pay for this?

If that’s a question for me-yes I did as the flip side of it is what the OP is potentially facing now.
We still don’t know the results and (like the last one of these where attempts were made to pull the wool) we probably never will...
