Depends what you want.

As I drove it this morning, I was thinking how much I was enjoying the edge that RWD in cold/wet gives...its so much more involving, with your mind/throttle/steering.

Yes AWD is likely quicker, but doesn’t necessarily have the same involvement.

Depends what you want.

I used to think, before I owned a big power RWD, that without quattro you would end up in a ditch upside down on fire if you tried to drive quick in cold/wet....but then I did 16k miles in a 550PS/680Nm F-TYPE R and realised they can driven quickly without killing you with the right application.

Correct.

Only caveat is it sometimes get's tiresome when wanting to mash the throttle & having to wait to find grip, but the positives more than outweigh the negatives. An adapted driving style dials out any traction issues very quickly.
