to be honest, thinking back i think you could be right, maybe they came across me from a job or something. As you say its not usual to wear gloves in the car in the summer lol, and whats with all the tools. I guess we will never know unless we see the car on crime-watch, maybe the car was stolen too ? but then again i guess they would have rammed me

Maybe they were looking to trade up from the S-line for their next job.

This is infuriating that you have potentially stumbled across a gang up to no good either car jacking, looking to beat someone up or on their way home from a robbery and the police choose to ignore it. OK there is a good chance the car is stolen or has false plates but surely it is worth looking into.
