RS4 B8 panoramic probs/issues

Post by RS4B8LYF » Mon Apr 17, 2017 2:39 pm

So, bought car which had just been in for a blind prob with sunroof (motor changed) and trusted it was fixed. When closing blind it retracts about 8" back and stops....it takes a bit of playing with the switch before it closes properly (booked in to have it rectified at Coulsdon Audi, originally done at Harrogate) then at 80+ mph it whistles too? I've been away for a couple of weeks and now it makes a knocking noise under vibration from well looked after British roads!!! I heard of this noise issue with Q5 roofs and that a guy from Audi Germany was flown in to do a weld job? Any of you had any of the above??? Thanks

I imagine that the alignment might be out and the anti-trap is kicking in to stop the blind. I had a rattle with mine and Audi replaced the cable with an updated part, this didn't fix it, so i had to have a new roof cassete/frame fitted. This did the trick and fixed my problem.

Mines booked in for the sunroof blind, the sunroof has started to rattle a bit too.
Also they should be replacing the exhaust tips

They are pitted and I mentioned I would like them changed. My local Audi centre have agreed to change them as a 'one off good will gesture'.
I understand they will be paying 70% of the cost.

Sports exhaust comes with black bezels which all but a few pit,
Audi then tell us that we don't look after them properly and refuse to change them but will do a goodwill.
£125 each after goodwill but the new ones will go the same way.

Mine have pitted, I guess it's the nature of the beast. You could spray them with a fire rated gloss black spray?

Yep, didn't go down the the "goodwill" route as I knew it would be like throwing £250 down the drain
thought when they get really bad ill spray them.

They have agreed to cover the full cost, it will cost the centre 70% and Audi 30% apparently.
I had this agreed verbally and hopefully this will still be the case when i take it in.
It is booked in for the 9th May so we will see.

Update: when blind motor was replaced the seal was incorrectly fitted meaning blind wouldn't shut properly! £324 to rectify which of course I'm not paying as Harrogate Audi made the mistake but Coulsdon Audi are looking at me to pay they will claim it from Harrogate as we all would expect. The two front DRC's are being replaced due to leakage free of charge

Little update on my sunroof.
The dealer have had the car for the last 3 days to replace the exhaust tips, fix the blind issue and look at the rattle coming form the sunroof. While they have it I asked if they could do the sat nav update for me as the new maps have been released recently.
I have just had the call to say it is all done but when removing the rear bumper the master tech cracked it!
They are very apologetic and will replace the bumper. They have said I can use my own paint Shop or use theirs. The paint Shop they use have a good reputation so it will probably go there.
I haven't seen it yet, I will be going up later this afternoon, so we will see!
