16k - Oil Change

Post by Pgj0hns0n » Sun Jan 15, 2017 9:31 am

Service light has just come on the dash and I'm told the car requires an oil change.

Rang my local Audi dealer - Southend, and they have quoted £420.

Does they sound right?

Thanks
PJ

That will be a big service surely - oil change and inspection. You must be on long interval regime. My first oil service was at 9k and cost £260. My next is an oil change and inspection and due at 18k.

Southend Audi will let you supply your own oil which will save you a good few quid.

I'd say that getting FASH for a newer C7 makes sense (although you get massively seen off price wise), for us C6 owners the independent route makes a lot more sense. I had my oil service and brake fluid change done by Audi a few months back and will probably go to an indie from now on

That's interesting as they never informed me of that! Funny that lol

Any idea what the net difference is between let them do the lot and them doing labour + supply own oil?

I'm erring on fash as it's still under warranty - as much as it makes me gulp (and not telling the good lady indoors.

It's first MOT is is march which also includes a brake check / change?

Are people choosing to get their oil service done early, as i'm almost at 12k and not had anything on the dash yet?

Paul,

I recently had a 2 year, 13k oil service and inspection at Southend Audi... The quoted me 285 and three weeks later i booked the car in. They then told me it was going to be 525. I challenged them as I'd been quoted 285 and they eventually said I'd get a call back. An hour later they called to say they had been through the telephone calls and confirmed I was indeed given the wrong price. In fairness to them, they apologized and honored the original price I was given. Result : ) :jump_clap:

Thanks Scotty, that's good to know. When I challenged them on the phone and they did put me on hold for a while to enquire about the car service history, mileage etc before giving the quote. That said, I'm also getting a courtesy car whilst it's being done.

16k - Oil Change

As the car has been tuned and millek exhaust, there's no risk of Audi wiping the mapping back to factory setting when it goes in?
