Look forward to seeing a few pics of the whole car. I believe these also come in black for us with black wheels?

Yes, Virdee can supply black H&R spacers for a more stealthy look with black wheels.

Sorry buddy, for me yes they do, the cone off the hub, and then a plate in-between the hub and the wheel - mechanically the wheel would bolt straight to the hub.

I'm really sorry, but I just cannot understand why people do it.

As you came out of that bend, the studs twisted, the tyre lost grip, the pothole bent the studs, the blaaah blaaaah.

Insurance companies will find a million reasons to not pay out - even down to having the wrong tyre fitted.

with 600 Brake, and a car that already looks wicked - I haven't got a clue why you'd risk it just for a few mm.

That looks great! Perfect offset I would say. Presume this is standard ride hight?

On the other comments I can't see how this would effect safety. Spacers get fitted to race cars and these have passed tuv approval so would doubt they pose any risk.

Yeah standard DRC suspension.

May lower it once out of warranty.

Hubcentrics are a great fit...well engineered and a quality product.

Mate it's nothing to do with if the spacers are TUV approved and wether they are safe or not.

Let me take you into Porsche (and now Audi R01) land on the tyres, Porsche tyres are N rated, the theory and therefore the issue is that if you smash up your 90k car, and it includes non-approved tyres or parts the insurance company can no claim you meaning you are personally liable to the damage on your car and the other - maybe even paying for a permanent disability for the third party for LIFE. Now it's not wether it is or is not material to accident, the insurance company, police and car warranty can use this as an "out"

I am way to busy, and way too invested in other things to have this (if even remote) threat on the possible claim. Therefore for me, adding a part like a spacer is just daft, I mean for what? does the car really look that much better? naaah not really and therefore why do it? It puts you into the land of uncertainty which I certainly don't need when so heavily invested in a machine.

Hence why i think it's daft.

Boffy, if you don't want them no-one is forcing you to use them. For anyone that does then you add them to your insurance policy and then you will get paid out in the event of an accident.

Does that also mean you will only ever use R01 tyres?

We've established Boff doesn't like spacers.....he's told us many times now.

Anyway They fill the arches well...look good to me....

LOL chuckle - guy listen

It's not a campaign against spacers, fill you boots, or chopping exhausts for more noise, or even chipping and more power. I am certainly not whiter than white.

But it's this - add something to your car that you deem "safe" or OK for a benefit that wouldn't outweigh the potential downside.

The downside is that men in white suits, the guy who asses your insurance claim, or the Police assessor who looks at the crash, have you balls in their hands if the <beep> hits the fan.

Personally I hate that thought, and on a 90 grand car believe me they will look for any way out.

My campaign is to not give them any excuses. Do what you like fellas, but a wider stance just for looks? you have opened the door to those folks with pens in their top pockets.

This is not about the mod, or how cool it looks/sounds. As a mate trying to keep you all safe from the men in the white suits when the <beep> hits the fan. That's all dudes.

But if you have it listed as a mod on your insurance how can they deny a claim for it?
