Going to wrap my car, curious your thoughts on this color..

Post by ad2330 » Wed Sep 09, 2015 7:30 pm

I've for some reason fallen in love with Porsche Mint Green. I'm not entirely sure why, but it is just an absolutely beautiful color. What are your thoughts? I would need to black out my trim and likely do black rings/mirrors as well.

Here are a few pics of what I'm after:

Need one of the photoshoppers on here to do a mock of a B7 in this colour. It will either look awful or amazing, nothing in-between.

I would absolutely LOVE it if someone could do a shop in Mint Green.

Here's a picture of my car that should work for a shop:

There was an RS4 advertised at the beginning of the year in that sort of colour. It looked horrible and they couldn't give it away.

Works on the odd rare Porsche, not on a B7. Just IMHO. It can be cool if there's a history behind it and transplanting that onto a different brand and type of car altogether rarely works.
B7 RS4 saloon Misano red, comfy seats, JHM tune & JHM full exhaust with cats and resonators - gone.
C5 RS6 Avant Daytona/Cognac - gone.
981 Cayman GTS Gray/Orange.

^^^^^Bang on. 'Odd' colours like this can often suit certain specific cars very well, but generally it doesn't work IMHO Another good example is Porsche Viper Green, which rather bizarrely looks awesome to most folk (Including me) only on a 997 GT3RS but looks pretty rank on anything else.
Current;
Porsche 997.1 GT3RS. Pure Orange, ceramics, etc, Sharkwerks exhaust
BMW 2002 restomod; Turbo body kit, S14 M3 Evo engine and lots more
Audi Q3 Black edition Quattro

Previously enjoyed;
Ibis White B7 RS4 Avant : TTS Supercharged 615ps/614 nm
Subaru Impreza 22B
Noble M400
TVR 400SE
Lotus Sunbeam Avon

On a 964 and other Porsches it looks good but on a big RS4 I don't think it'll look right. If I were wrapping mine I would go for a matte grey or black, safe I know but it does look great 8)

I dunno, modifying a car is so personal, I often see modified cars and think I wouldn't have done that! But I bet the owner loves it. I am sure I have done things that other have frowned upon in the past :bigblink:

I reckon if everything else on the car was black with no chrome at all it could look nice. Least a wrap can be removed if it really looks bad. However, I have no clue how much a wrap costs haha A colour that bold will always split opinion.

Funny cause I was driving near Baldock earlier this afternoon and saw a metallic turquoise B7 RS4. I only got a quick glance. Couldn't work out if there was a front mounted intercooler behind the grill though which would suggest it was an imitation! Had all the wings and pipes though. Any one know the car?
