Guys, quick note. I think admitting doing warp speed on public forums is some sort of offence. Good job you were talking about private tracks near those locations, right? Some of those posts might need editing for spelling mistakes n such.

Unless you say I did x speed at x time & date, at x exact location, and then post video evidence... I don't think theres any need to worry.

Besides, everyone exaggerates so what's to say everything people have said isn't made up?

Unfortunately Si, you seem to have the pics :(

You've got me worried now. I didn't know about this type of camera. Are there any on the m6 between cov and brum? Just been to preserve and back and didn't know to look out for them.

Anyway, good luck Si!
They are putting them up on the variable speed limit stretch of the M42. I can't see it being long before the M6 has them on the new variable limit stretch up by Jun 4 or 5 onwards. They have them around the Dartford tunnel / crossing section of the M25 too.

I've also heard from colleagues 'in the know' that they are actually set to trip at any speed above 70mph. The whole '10% + 3' thing doesn't exist with these things.
All the variable cameras between junction 3a (M40)to junction 8(M6) were switched on last year. A few people I know have been done by them. And I do believe the cameras are working along the M6 between junction 5 (spaghetti junction)to 10a (M54) I've personally seen them flashing on the opposite carriage way.
Thanks Eddie. I assumed the gantry cameras were on but I didn't know about these new ones on the side of the gantry and only looked for the main gantry cameras as I went through there yesterday. Hopefully there are no new ones on the m6 yet.

Aargh I just realised I need to tell you this

These new fangled cameras on the side of gantries .... I saw one on the side of a Information Matrix Sign on the Essex stretch of M25

So the moral is that they are out to get you, even if you slow for the gantry ....

It's a pretty small gape to be honest. You'd probably still hear a whistle out of that gape if you opened the bedroom window during a nice breeze. I like to leave a gape that a Northern line tube carriage wouldn't look odd coming out of.
No matter where you go, there you are.

I'd be even more wary about using a car VRN as a username.

You are right - you have to be extremely careful what you write nowdays, increasingly so I'd said, especially when your username is possibly traceable (like mine and yours). Tbh I'd be more worried about employers or prospective employers than the police. I know my employer does a load of social media twaddling.

However, as mentioned above, posting mph achieved in forum text is one thing. It's another thing entirely - and absolute stupidity - to do something like the know motorbike rider who posted a fantastic youtube video of him tearing up the country roads, with the video starting and ending facing his garage door......
(he was traced and banned)

I'm surprised Bam didn't reply to this with a "I've fucked your wife" quip, knowing you'd take it as a joke given the topic of discussion!
