B7's and super unleaded thirst
Re: B7's and super unleaded thirst
In London I used to get 120 miles every tank... there's a lot of traffic lights in London!
Now I get about 170, but this very much depends on how much is left in the tank when we fill up and how 'full' we fill it ie using the secret button.

Secret button?! You mean the big rubber nipple under the fuel cap?!MikeFish wrote:In London I used to get 120 miles every tank... there's a lot of traffic lights in London!

Great noise, but for 500 a year road tax and to get embarassed by diesel bm's it wasn't worth it anymore. Great car but glad i finally moved on.coffey555 wrote:It may well be old but...... I think we should all be embracing the fall in the price of fuel by getting out & driving these cars as they should be driven, although I need to be careful,as i was ticked off by plod last weekend for driving "enthusiastically " I was very lucky,he was a bit of a petrolhead,& a good guy, first thing he said was, lovely car,one of the best ive driven, then gave me a 20 lecture, but let me off with a warning,i was exiting a 40 mph limit in to a national limit,& was doing 80 mph as i left the 40 mph zone......oopps! Wont be so careless in future.

Lol no worries i know what you mean, it was the same on the r32oc, bruv's innit kind of lads joining up and asking about twin turbo's and pedal boxes for the r32 and low and behold 2 months later it was for sale.
On a related side note i got 4 michelin pilot super sports for 760 today fitted, balanced and new tpms installed, was pleased with that (i already had the tpms).

I know what you mean Rick, I tend to take a step back as I've upset a few on the clio V6 and Porsche forum by just giving my honest opinion,
I'm sure Niall will love his RS if it does 5 or 50 to the gallon ! it's down to how you drive it and a bit of luck, I drive mine like a fanny most of the time but do wind it up now and then, and funny enough never have any major bills

BMW diesel? I don't think so! I've dropped a 360 and 430 at lights. Ok I got a cars length clear then closed the door but they are way quicker than diesels.....birdiemachine wrote:Great noise, but for 500 a year road tax and to get embarassed by diesel bm's it wasn't worth it anymore. Rick, DO NOT stay away. I just love looking at that sweet fat ass in your sig.
It is annoying when people start to bring up the cost of running these cars, although it can also be annoying when you make a comment about somethings cost and get set upon. I had an E60 M5 and had a really bad week. In one week I bought 4 new tyres (Michelins), then the alternator went (£380 part £700 labour) then to top it all off the Vanos high pressure oil pipe split(common fault but still £600 all told) so a total of about £2500. No one wants that no matter how wealthy you are. I went on to M5 board and mentioned my bad luck and got torn to shreads !!
Best I've had is about 280 miles out of her. Most of the time its about 200. I also drive like a fanny most of the time as I think that it makes it feel more special when you do open her up. In my experience if you use it alot ( as I do its my daily) then the experience gets dulled a bit.

He was talking about his old R32. I don't care if a diesel BMW was faster than my old red bus, the RS4 will always be cool to me and will always sound epic!

My RS4 still makes me smile like a Cheshire Cat every time I drive it, even after 8 1/2 years of owning it (something no other car has done, I normally get bored after 6 months).
