Need some help with S4 wheels!

Post by s4bc » Thu Feb 03, 2005 6:09 am

Hello

I am new to RS246.com..... I am looking for some new rims for my 01 S4 and I am finding that there are a VERY limited selection online and the ones I do see a pretty crappy. I am looking for a quality.. good looking rims, everyday street driving. Can anyone point me to where I may find a better selection? or make some recommendations? I have 2 bent factory rims and am in dire need to upgrade

Thanks

Try the tirerack on www.audiworld.com.

Clever little feature has an A4 picture which you can change the bodywork colour, then see the rims installed. Also shows the wheels weights and available sizes. It should at least help narrow down the designs you like.

Once you've got to this stage try a post asking if anyone has them installed already and see if you can't get some real pictures, hopefully someone on one of the forums has a picture they'll share. Also you'll find out if there are any issues with brake clearance etc...

Then all that remains is finding a dealer to sell you the wheels.

Hello and welcome! Good choice of Car

I'm not quite sure why your finding it hard to find wheels. I would start here:-

http://www.performancealloys.com

find what you want then hunt or phone around for a good price with rubber.

As you know the S4 will take 17's, 18's and even 19's. You will need something with a bolt pattern of 5x112 (? Pretty Sure) and then an offset around ET35 but you can use spacers (tho cheap ones not recommended).

I have a ET45 wheel on my car with a 3mm spacer to clear the calipers......

Another place to try would be Elite Design in Daganam you can drive in and see the wheels on your car!

hope its a start! Regards Gav

I've always found this site to be useful for seeing what aftermarket wheels suit the S4 - at the end of the day it usually comes down to personal prefernece and budget, but you may want to consider the following;
1) wheel weight
2) possible rubbing issues with wrong offset/wheel width
3) increasing the rolling radius by going for 18 or 19" rims

yep, 8.5 width alloys with et35 offset can cause rubbing if car is lowered.

Try the Moven SP10 almost identical and should be able to get a set for under $900. Don't know about the weights though.

Any idea where I can get some good pics of the Moven sp10s? The moven website has some pretty poor images.

Google Image search came up with 3 results

http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en ... Moven+sp10

then click on the middle one, seems to be the best picture!

www.spyeng.com list them as 22Lb each. Might be a bit wide for the S4 at 18x8.5 depending on how low you go.
