Wife is thinking to get me tickets to the F1 this year for my Bday.
Any advice on where the best ticket value is in this list (http://tickets.formula1.com/en/3226-silverstone/).
Looking to just go Sunday.
Any other advice on F1 Silverstone welcome (I'm a complete virgin).

Re: Silverstone F1: Advice
questions really are:
Do you want to see the cars (ie going slowly) and possible overtaking or want to get a feeling of the speed with them zooming buy?
Also need to consider how you are as if it's sunny it's beyond hot so covered can help. TBH an umbrella is useful to take either way.

Re: Silverstone F1: Advice
I would say the former, like to see them in an action location.
But just not sure if a stand is better (and if so, which one), or if there is a way to make the most of it with a gen admin ticket.
Not worried about being exposed to the weather, the beer will take care of that !

Grandstands are set further back but being significantly higher you do see much more of the cars approaching. General is good as you get closer but you are still set back as it were.
The best thing about general is the freedom to move however you need to be aware that there are some diehard fans and it's like trying to get a sunbed by a pool... there's no guarantee you'll even have line of sight close up so you may be futher back.
Personally I think Vale is a good compromise - you get to see them approach from stowe still going pretty fast then they bunch up for the chicane at vale and this is a great overtaking place.
Copse is great for high speed but in modern f1 cars they barely lift so no overtaking there.
Becketts is a bit more interesting but stil such a fast corner that it's hard to get involved there. Possible but hard.
Village is great at the start and has some good views - worth considering if you have that little bit extra.
Stowe is great for a long view down hanger straight and with drs/kers you will get overtaking there but even for the corner it's still pretty quick. probably one of the other places I like as it's not bad (big screen there too).
If you can can stretch it, it's worth looking into helicopter transfer from the Bicester area - not massively expensive and only takes a few minutes but saves much agro getting in and out.

Oh - it's worth a quicki google on YouTube as you'll see many videos from the stands so give you a good idea what to expect.

Re: Silverstone F1: Advice
i went twice last year f1 and moto gp, we watched f1 at stowe grandstands whch was uncovered but great view although club corner is where its at. watched the bikes from luffield (covered)and again a great spot. different stands vary big in price which is always a consideration. when its wet its horrible but when sunny its hot and no place to shade easily. great track though
