Hi

You may remember you used your Vag com to sort out removal of Sat nav Disc. We met up at the Hoel by Hemel turnoff of the M1.

I live between Hemel and Berkhamstead....

Thought I would update thread, not good news.
Had a call from police today, car recovered and looks like its a write off, totally wrecked, front end and offside. D :boohoo: river although legged it must of been injured due to evidence in car. When talking to officer he asked me if it used to be Red, yep they had not only changed the plates but sprayed it a totally different colour.

Sad day......

Sorry to hear mate, hopefully insurance will come up trumphs? Any news?

Can't believe it had been painted, I'm guessing it was involved in a chase for it to be damaged?

Anyone secretly interested in what colour the scum painted it?
No matter where you go, there you are.

At least he was injured. Hopefully it is excruciatingly painful and lasts forever.

If they changed the colour and the number plates how did they know it was your car? Surely if they went to that much trouble they changed e VIN numbers too? Surely you just weld a new number into the chassis or is it not that simple anymore?

It's definitely not that simple. There are vin plates /stamps in a few places, including one that is hidden in a location only known by the manufacturer.

That almost sounds like an urban myth ;)

Hope the culprit is maimed for life.

I had hidden main keys and forgot about spare of which they found. However, everytime we go abroad I park the car in my daughters garage miles away. Stupid I know but as we only went to Wales for a short break, I didn't bother.
Lessons learned.
