My number one pet hate, I can't stand stickered up, chavved scoobs. Chavved rear lights run a close second on the hate list. Other than the factory STI decal going back on the boot, she won't be having any other decals. Not bad wheels though, think they might be PFF7 replicas.

She is off next weekend to Subaru4you for them to pull the guts out of the engine bay and get to work on the new custom lump. Dreading the 1000 miles running in after it is done.

This is tame compared to his last one, you couldn't really see any of the paint it was that covered.

So glad the Classics are becoming rarer again as I sold her just as all the chavs were banging around in the nasty cheap old ones. Most of those have either blown up from abuse of have been smashed. An awful lot of the blobeye/hawkeye owners that sold their classics are returning to the classics as they find the experience more rewarding according to the Scooby nerd forums.

Umming and ahhing over wheels, can't make my mind up totally. I actually really like the contrast of the silver wheels currently against the black body and so does madam but I have to get rid of them as they are tatty and stick out in the middle and go in as the reach the edge of the rim, total kerb nightmare for madam.

I find myself really drawn to these (a smidge over 9kg each in 18x7.5j, ET45) and can get the rims for sub-£400 NEW which is ridiculous:

Thoughts or suggestions welcome. I haven't been able to find a side shot of these rims so I suspect that they are kerb catchers too.

Annoyingly, I was being blind and they are basically a copy of the PFF7 wheels that are fairly common on the newer Impreza variants. Still think I will go for them though, have made enquiries regarding how proud they are coming out from the rim to the hub as madam is bricking it at the thought of parking her.

Spoken to the tuners yesterday and have upped the rebuilt budget to 8.5k, from my original 5, with a few more things on the wish list and will up the budget more depending on what I can sell from parts coming off. Fecking car, she knows I love her too much! Going in weekend after next as I want another week or so to finish rewiring the cabin etc and reassembling.

Yes yes, probably not worth it etc but I just don't care, needs to be done and like the 6, I don't see myself ever selling her (again!)

They look like the alloys there were used on the WR1.

Correct and that is what has me thinking twice now but for the money it seems stupid not to get them? That way I have funds directed at the more important bits and can always change again later. Still going to be the thick end of a grand after eagley-goodness get slapped on them.

Dunc you rimslut, where is your opinion on this?

I had either the Eagle GSD2 or GSD3s on there at some point but I went through them in 5000 miles.

I was bloody surprised at the rate of wear on such a light car!

Yawn-tastic update. Have glued the housings in to the new red-stitched leather gaiter so it looks pretty factory in the surround and locks on to the factory gearknob perfectly. Replacement red-stitched STI handbrake is in. Still can't make my mind up on the wheels. Had every single piece of plastic trim out of the car and in the bath to clean thoroughly including the dash and have managed to make a few near-perfect interior parts from butchering scrap yard spares that I ordered last week and my existing parts.

Modded the boot and interior lighting clips for larger, far brighter LED units. Got the final piece of the puzzle (replacement boost sender module) to get the Defi set working again, rewired all the senders back in for good, tested them and ok across the board now. Altered the sender position in the engine bay to avoid it dying again...

The seats that Swanny and Chunky got hold of for me are spot on looks-wise. More replacement door cards enroute to further bastardize the already bastardized door cards, again going for best overall condition possible.

Gave up trying to find the perfect double din stereo that did everything I wanted but managed to find somewhere that could get the touchscreen element for the old unit so bit the £80 bullet and got that. Going to take a gamble with a DAB aerial convertor instead of a dedicated roof mount like I did on the Cupra and will wire in the spare Sonichi unit hidden away somewhere. If the reception is plop then will figure out something else.

Have given the tuner a more precise wish list for what I would like to see them do and have confirmed final date of 01/06 for the work to start. Hoping that I will have the energy to carry on tinkering this week but have been fighting a chest/throat infection for over 3 weeks now and it just isn't giving up its grasp. Oh well, 1 more poisoning session to go on 30/05 then another PET-CT scan to see how things are going. Right, bedtime as that is enough bollocks from me for one night folks.

Despite all the stuff going on in life currently, this car continues to fill me with joy every time I look at her on the drive and doesn't empty my wallet like a crack-riddled whore, unlike the rest of the stable.....

When the rain clears, I get these 3 massive proposals out of the way and I get the other cars off the drive then fine. Not sure what you want to see. The dash is back in as shock horror like everything on the car, takes no time to remove/refit, but guts of wiring etc are still hanging out from various places if that gives you joy :P
