Revolution RS4 leaving today...

Post by Revolution » Sat Mar 23, 2013 10:27 am

My beloved leaves for pastures new today and hope the new owner Matt enjoys him as much as me...
:boohoo:

By far the best allrounder I've ever owned and if anyone is debating whether or not to get one - do it as these are amazing cars...!

Probably and end of an era as one of the last in the breed of manual gearboxed wonders - 997 GT3 is a different animal I know but similar as 991 model is paddle shift only...

If it wasnt for Revolution and the need to get stuck into something new it would be staying I can assure you...

For now I have no idea of what car/Audi to go for next but we have the Project STi to keep the bhp side of me happy (in Evo's latest edition BTW) and prob going to wait until the Autumn for the next purchase.
The wife will be demented with me by then, LOL

My shortlist is:
B8 RS4 - when prices drop (with a view to supercgharging it)
GTR - amazing machine but something is holding me back
C6 RS6 - bigger faster version of the B7, but not sure i could cope with the mpg
997T - always loved them
New shape S3 - saw one at geneva and liked it a lot
RS3 - Had one on loan all last week from a friend on here...
Amazing engine, gearbox....but current high price of them and its lacking road presence so guess its maybe not for me (spoilt by the B7 maybe)

Thoughts...
DK has probably driven all of these :-)

Maybe shouldve just kept the B7 after all - bye bye my sweetypie

To the gallows....

haha fair doos Glenn, to be honest coming from the cars you have had, I would not see any benefit from having a S3, RS3 (if just a run around) or even a RS6. The C7 RS6 looks the nuts.

The prorkers are obviously in their own league.

I sold my Sprint blue saloon but very soon regretted it, took me 3 months to find a mint Daytona grey one to replace it with, but so very happy with it :beerchug:
There is no other car out there that, overall, comes close, as you say Glenn, i'll keep popping in to remind you of your rash decision :greyrs4: :bigwave:

Ditto the above.
I feel the same re choice of car dilemma too, that's why I decided to keep mine and charge it. Only car that might be able to tempt me away would be a GT3RS. That said, I got a run in a mates brand new R8 V10 plus yesterday, holy 5hit! What a weapon. Way way out of my price league though.

Sorry to see you go Glen.

Get a C6 RS 6 Glenn!!!

RS4 big brother!!

750 plus BHP.

Not the best dynamically...but last of the really bonkers Audis!!!

Drop it, custom zorst, remap!!

V10 goodness....if you can live with the MPG depends what your daily mileage is?

Il fetch mine up to you to have a poke around?

It's no track car as we all know?...I suppose if you want a track car a smaller RS is your boy?....or your crazy Subaru?

It ticks all the boxes the B7 RS4 does (I had one) apart from the handling?...although they say you can really transform that lowering it?

But some say its boring?...it's well insulated so sometimes feels very normal?

Hi guys
Thanks for your comments of doom....

22B, I'm going nowhere fast and will be lurking around sniffing fast Audi ideas for the future.
GT3's are amazing but lacking in the torque dept.

No decision until the autumn so plenty of time to try out the shortlist.

C6 RS6's are a weapon no doubt, sub 15mpg would make me cry

Hi,

Thought I'd introduce myself as the person that has taken the lovely revolution RS4 away from Glenn.
I have apologised already and will again but have to say. ..What A Car!!

Already addicted to the noise and acceleration. ..must have put a hundred quid in fuel in today.

Have to say Glenn has to be one of the nicest and easiest guys to buy a car from. Couldn't do enough and i will be using his company as much as possible even though I'm near London.

Thanks again Glenn, sorry for stealing him away. ..he's a complete beast :smile_smoking:
