RS246's 10 year anniversary (29th December 2012)

Post by PhilT » Fri Nov 25, 2011 6:14 pm

On December 29th 2012, RS246 will be 10 years young :)

This will be quite a special occasion and I guess we should try to do something special. I welcome great ideas, but more importantly it would be great to have people who can be creative and make things happen. John and I just do not have the time to magic this.

Here's some ideas:

1. Central Track Location - Donington/Oulton/Cadwell/Silverstone/Other?
2. Central Museum Location - National Motorcycle Museum (NEC)/Heritage Motor Centre Motor Museum (Gaydon)/Other?
3. Audi UK. I'd need to refresh my Audi contacts.
4. Some nice central venue for a good knees up :D

If you have things that you can do and would prefer to email, then please do @ crew@rs246.com

Great Idea, we def need to do something. Now matter how big or small. Silverstone sounds good to me.

My all time best F1 memory is the Renault F1 turbo cars qualifying at Brands a few years ago - the heat haze coming off them and the sound was just awesome!

In the 1960's my brother used to race there in the Hillman Imp series (his was modded up to 85bhp at the wheels, twice stock), would love to get the chance to drive there too.

Good thing about Brands is that any one can spectate and drive around to the pit side, so even if your not into track days you can still pop alone and even get a few pax rides.

There is an Open Pit lane at Brands on Sunday 11th December, £139. http://www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/brands_hatch.htm

Sunday would be better as most could attend. However may be busy with other cars.

Only trouble is, its not central and is unfair to the northern brethren.

I think doing this in Kent would be mightly unfair on our northern members!

Phil, I can speak to people in Audi if you wanted to host in the Audi UK courtyard and see if they would open the showroom for refreshments. Let me know
