Not been around for ages but el problemo help!

Post by Gravitypilot » Sat Jul 02, 2011 9:27 pm

Guys hope your all well havent been around for a while!?

Got some probs... noticed a louder whistle noise when the turbos come onto full boost about 2 days ago... This has now progessed to a full on loud shhhhhhhhh when you come on full boost.. Sounds amazing but worried! Anyine else hsd this? Im hoping leak pipe but checked top hoses and they seem okay? Any advice?

Another think is all my blooming car parking sensors hsve ceased to function.. When you put it in reverse now or press the car paek sensor button it just flashs and beeps at me and tells me that the computer says no!? Any fix apart from lump hammer?

Audi also say front discs now need changing.. Not sure wheather to get drilled or not what are u guys running and do they crack often etc?

And ps ... Whoever brought that black manual.. I hate you! Lmao

If its a loud SHHHHH then it's definitely a boost leak. If it sounds like a siren WHIIIII that would be worse.

It's almost never the top hoses. Probably the lower boost hose going to the intercooler. 5 minute job to put back on. Tighten it up a lot. I had this happen once after I had the hose off, and I was convinced that it was tight enough, but it's easy to underestimate the forces involved.

Probably one of the sensors is kaput. Vagcom will tell you which one. Relatively easy and cheap fix.

I like solid disks. They don't crack or warp and I prefer the look. I know I am on my own on this though :D

Sounds like you have some good advice on the leaks, wrt the discs, I changed mine recently was advised that the solid discs are no longer available and that the drilled Plus discs are the only option now. Not a problem for me, that's what I had already, but the information might be useful to you in your search.

I hope you're wrong about that :(

Are solid disks available for the C6 I wonder?

There is a small firm in Dartford who could make you some solid or grooved discs but it costs a bit more than OEM.
