Suspension set up decision

Post by xyber » Tue Dec 08, 2009 7:26 pm

Hello everyone,

I've got KWv3 going on in the new year, but in stuggling to decide on which sway bars to use, either the OE RS4 rear one, or the full Hotchkis RS4 pair?

I'm only lowering the car around 25mm, but have on 19x9 Bentley CGT wheels so my thinking is the full Hotchkis setup could be useful in keeping body roll to a minimum with such wide wheels. Judging by some RS4 owners the KW/Hotch combo is great, but possibly overkill on a daily driver, but then again maybe needed with the possible sidewalls vs arch problem during cornering with the car lowered.

Any views or ideas welcome

thanks

Anyone with an RS4 used kw's but with standard arb's? If this combo keeps the car pretty stiff and it's alot cheaper then i would go down this route i think.
What is the price difference in the hotchkis and the RS4 arb's?

About £300 difference between the two.

What percentage of the final price is the £300? If its pretty high i would go with the RS4, it should do a good enough job anyway

For me, just the RS4 would do. If you aren't going to track it then i doubt you would really benifit the full hotchkis

Im running KWv3 20mm drop and the full Hotchkis ARBs on my RS4. I have the KWs set up on a medium setting, and to be honest I like it more than what I though. the ARBs was a huge difference.

I paid £370 for my ARBs however they are around $380 from the states, so maybe worth you ordering them from overseas. P+P should not be that much.
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Yeah $380 but everywhere is quoting $135 p&p so by the time you pay that lot, plus the taxes and fees hit, you only save a few quid, but have to wait probably until NY on standard international mail.

I'll buy from Grizz I think, once I've got a price on my Sessanta tyres tomorrow hopefully
