tyres for rs6
RE: Re: RE: tyres for rs6
well cost isn't an issue so is the goodyear the choice???
Re: RE: Re: RE: tyres for rs6
It's a bit subjective really. Some say Vreds, others say Goodyears (and some neither!). I personally have only tried the Vreds so cannot provide a comparison between those and the Goodyears. I'd wait for a few more replies to make a more informed decision.bigjocky wrote:well cost isn't an issue so is the goodyear the choice???

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta all the way
RE: Re: RE: tyres for rs6
Cost isn't an issue with most of us.
Just because something is more expensive does not mean it is better.
Dunlop SP9000 XL were standard fit on many RS6s, they were more expensive than the Vreds, and vastly inferior both in terms of wet grip and wear on the inside edge.

True, but defo won't de buying Dunlop, ha!!!
RE: Re: RE: tyres for rs6
I've run P Zero's, PS 2's, Dunlop and Vreds over the past three years.
Vred's have been substantially the best, and the cheapest. If they wern't around I'd probably go back to the PS 2's, but at £100 a corner more, I'd need some convincing!

Thanks Dave.

Nicely resumed, Dave. Not bad for a man old who wears panties and bras
I'll try the vreds next time round.

Personally, I think the conti's were the most dangerous tyres I ever had the mis fortune to have on my car. They lasted 1000 miles before i binned them. Ok in the dry but in the wet, lethal. Not what I wanted when my wife and daughter are in the car more than me. Sorry!
Pzero's again were great in the dry but shocking in the wet or damp greasy conditions. I did a 360 on the M6 at 50mph in a rainstorm.....
I have not tried the vreds, but have heard all good stuff. I use and have used now3 sets of the F1 eagles Assy's and they are great. No complaints at all. loads of wet grip, spleen removing grip in the the dry, and when hot on "track" days just unbelievable...... You back out before the car.......
Just make sure you give them time to warm up before unleashing 500 odd hp, otherwise you look a cock.....

Im in the process of moving from PZero's to Vreds so i'll give an update when it happens. Ive heard good things and they have alot to live upto after a good year on the PZero's. Another point on the Vreds is that they may have a longer life than other tyres but i have yet to find out. Any takers?
My PZero's lasted 10k (with another 2k still on them i reckon). What will Vreds manage?
